Join me as I welcome Aigaras Stewart, a.k.a. I sit down with photographer, filmmaker, and storyteller Foster Huntington to trace his path from growing up backpacking around Oregon and the West to leaving a corporate job at Ralph Lauren in Manhattan and moving into a 4WD VW van in 2011. Foster shares how The Burning House project took off, how the “vanlife” hashtag started as a joke, and why his early focus was documenting others rather than centering himself. We talk through his evolving lineup of rigs—from the VW to an early flatbed Tacoma build, a 118" Sprinter, an 80 Series Land Cruiser, and now an F-350 flatbed with a modular Bison camper—plus his preference for simple, bedroom-style setups over rolling condos.
