This election was a serious drag on many people's mental health, and it will require many of us who want positive forward movement and change to abruptly have to figure out how to live and be healthy in the upcoming (gag) Trump years, because we fear the chaos and craziness that's likely coming in (sigh, vomit!) the Trump presidency. He's pretty much told us what he wants to do, and it's absurd, and will likely tear down many societal, institutional, and democratic norms. But please don't despair! Here, Rebecca and I speak very candidly about how we're processing politics moving forward, how to step away from it for our sanity and mental health, while not unplugging from the fight completely, and where to go from here.
This episode is more about how to deal with life, mental health, and politics moving forward in the aftermath of the election, than it is about politics itself; and how we activists and democracy and normalcy loving folks can move forward and cultivate healthy coping mechanisms, better life skills, and to forge happiness moving forward. This will likely be our last political adjacent show for a little while, as we move on to better and more positive things moving forward. Topics that are more in our wheelhouse, like #spookylife, #nerdlife, and #empathlife, and yes, we're always going to be about good #mentalhealth and more robust living for regular working-class folks. While we're political activists, the best thing we all can do right now is to maximize our other interests, mentally prepare for the clown show that's coming, and use this time wisely to enrich and fortify our own personal lives, fitness, and finances.
Hang in there you guys. Life gets pretty effing weird sometimes, but you're not alone! There's at least half of America, and many people from other democratic leaning countries who feels the way you feel. We'll get through this and come out better on the other side together.

On the last episode, I spoke at length about all the possible reasons for Trump's election win, or Kamala's loss, depending on how you see it. On this episode we wanted to speak more about matters of the heart, and go over all of our "feels" about this election, in order to get to a better place emotionally, and to have better mental health and a better attitude about all this overwhelming stuff! Plus, how I'm feeling about the podcast and channel in general these days, and my opinion about how this country is simply growing anemic in substance, and lacking in common sense and a sense of community and helping one another out, as well as not staying minimally informed. Some folks nowadays just don't have a single clue what's going on anymore, nor care about anything or anyone, and we find that sad. Lastly, we talk about the buyer's remorse many Americans will have in voting for Trump, as people begin to see their true fringe and extreme nature come out.
As always, we're here to help regular people feel good and feel good enough in a weird and sometimes regressive and punitive society, but there's hope! We must forge through this life and create the kind of life we want, a life we can enjoy and feel happy, joyful, and free in. We're always here to help, and so we hope you can help us simply by subscribing, liking the videos, and watching them all the way through, and visiting our Linktree where you can become a patron on Patreon, find all our stuff, or buy us a cup of coffee if you care about us and the movement of kindness we're trying to spread! We work very hard on all this, and want to be the kind of support people need. But sometimes we need help too, so we thank you for everything you do in return to help us feel relevant and good in this world of diminishing returns. Thanks for your friendship and support, we appreciate you!

I've been watching liberal media play the blame game, and there's massive infighting going on. But then also, sometimes there's a good amount of humility and clear eyed analysis going on as to what caused the very competent Kamala Harris to lose so badly to the deeply flawed Trump, and why did he win by such large margins?! It feels impossible, to the point where some people are starting to float conspiracy theories, from Russian interference, and so on! But that's likely not the case. Looking from the liberal vibes bubble, all pundits, polls, mystics, and fortune tellers all had their money on Harris, so WTF went wrong!?
Here, I compiled a list of very logical reasons why perhaps Trump won, or Harris lost, depending on how you look at it. I'd like to hear your theories in the comments! This list of possibilities is a combination of what I've seen in political news, memes, social media, and my own takes on the subject. Lastly, I'll talk about what can be gleaned from everything we've seen, both good and bad, and what we democracy loving people must do for ourselves personally post ass whooping mentally, physically, and emotionally; and then, what my advice is to get back into the game so we can live to fight another day and triumph in our better progressive policies and more ethical platform that these ragtag Republicans. Anyone whos been paying attention can see they didn't deserve to win, but here we are! Reason number 480,000 on why I'm an atheist!
An unparalleled do nothing Congress, Ridiculous fake inquiries into Hunter Biden's laptop and Joe Biden's finances, that led to nothing. Trump and Republicans killing a well written comprehensive border bill, Trump's insane, unhinged, and unAmerican policy positions and proposals, a low energy, fringe and radical wingnut campaign, and all of the constant lying and propaganda from conservative media, surrogates, and the horse's mouth, Trump himself. Anyone following politics can see that Democrats deserved and should have won big, and Republicans deserved to be silenced and rebuked for their f*ckery. So why did he win the electoral college AND the popular vote? Here's some possibilities. These are my hot takes on the state of the 2024 US election, and what we can learn from all this.

On this short video we talk about our election and life anxieties, as well as the future of the channel, depending on where our country goes. We're optimistic, but all nerves right now. But the truth is we have to be both cautiously "nauseously" optimistic, but also prepare for the possible gut punch that may come. But more than that, also prepare the fact that this could also go really well! Just because we think it doesn't make it real. This election will deliver either a giant boost or a huge slump to our our mental health, depending on the outcome. We empaths and progressives are a sensitive, wounded, and neurotic bunch, but please do not give in to fear and nihilism! Because no matter what happens, we cannot stop fighting for forward thinking values and what we know is right. We cannot give in to negativity and anxiety, nor can we neglect our physical and emotional health. We're all in this together, and there's no way up and out of this without an ample supply of positivity, enthusiasm, tenacity, and optimism for the future. Remember, we're all here for each other and we're all in this together!

On this special episode, I wanted to talk about the fine line as an empath of also trying to just be myself; a regular guy who likes baseball and is just a regular dude, just with a natural ability for sensitivity. I've always felt inherently masculine and still in touch with my sensitive side, here I talk about what is required in maintaining that balance. Then I talk about the how American culture as a whole isn't bettering themselves due to the sheer amount of financial and emotional challenges just to stay afloat, and what it takes to get there. Plus, the difficulty in transitioning from radio and podcasting to YouTube, and the difficulty in trying to satisfy both my audience and myself.
I talk about the real issues going on in America, and how this thing is being exploited by the alt right, corporations, and manipulators. I speak about the lesser known dangers of the Trump/MAGA movement and what that influence has on young impressionable males, especially when males are having an especially hard time fitting in and finding themselves and their emotional core, or any sense of community or understanding around them, and how that has become weaponized for socio-political purposes to push a radical anti-democracy movement.
Lastly, I speak about how I'm trying to form fit this channel into being both a safe place for people and where I can have fun and be both the radio guy and the YouTuber simultaneously. To be both the soldier and the empath at the same time, where it's ok to diverge from my usual kind seef in order to get stuff off my chest. At the end of the day, it's always more difficult in the beginning, finding your voice, finding your audience, and finding a happy medium between comfort and pushing the envelope into better things. So please, if you like us and what we're all about please like, subscribe, and help out in any small ways that you can! We appreciate you, and appreciate your kindness and patience while I figure out the best way forward for this channel.

On this Afterparty, I wanted to address some of the things I've ran into since moving my podcast to YouTube, some of the haters, unsolicited advice, and rude people who have come out of the woodwork, and how I feel about that, and why our channel is the way it is, imperfect as it might be. Lastly, I'll go over the horror movies we love that we accidentally missed on the last podcast episode! For those regular viewers and new viewers and listeners who haven't crossed the line, this criticism isn't for you, we love ya just the way you are! It's about knowing where the line of decency and privacy ought to be.

On this episode Rebecca and I share with you our election anxieties as election day draws closer, and the unprecedented amount of odd and extreme misinformation floating around out there about the election and hurricane Helene and Milton, the unprecedented depravity in our politics today, and the sheer stupidity of some people who fall for Trump's lies and Fox News's woeful and despicable propaganda. We've always known Trump to bend the truth, but I never could have imagined we'd get to the point where Republicans would push such insane conspiracy theories about Democrats "manipulating the weather," or Trump scaring his own supporters in their time of need with blatant lies about hurricane relief aid, as well as Trump's nonstop lying about the hurricane response and his debunked lies about the hurricane. It's immoral, it's unconscionable, and it's the lowest and most despicable I've ever seen Trump or Republicans, and that's saying something!
At the end of the day, we just wanted to come on here and see how you're doing, and to see if you're feeling how we're feeling. We just wanted to get things off our chest about the craziness out there about the election coverage, and to blow off steam about the media's "sane washing" of Trump, and some of the media's complicity in not addressing the barrage of terrible behaviors about Trump's fitness to serve as President. But, there's hope you guys! Kamala Harris is ahead in the polls, and we believe, despite our frustration and all the hateful rhetoric out there, that sanity and goodness will prevail, so long as we're super motivated to vote, and to get our friends and family to vote too! Here, we go into all of it, and we thank you for your friendship and support! Sanity and democracy will prevail, so long as we're all motivated to use our power to vote, and to thwart the dystopian lies and nihilistic craziness some peddle on a daily basis.
