The SportsGrid Fantasy Football Show

Dane Martinez and George Kurtz look back at a surprising win by the Cowboys over the Saints, with the guys thinking the Cowboys may have come up with a recipe for success against high flying offenses like the Saints and Chiefs. Virginia Zakas of Inside Injuries joins the show to give updates on AJ Green, DeSean Jackson, and Mitch Trubisky. One concern of Virginia's is Rob Gronkowski, as the gang questions if it finally time for Gronk to hang up the cleats, with everyone saying he has enough money, and can really do anything else (I.E. acting), and should look at his long-term health.

Dane Martinez and George Kurtz open the show looking some of Scott Engel's rankings for Week 13, and look at what Doug Baldwin will do this weekend against the 49ers. One of Scott's running back rankings that intrigues the guys is the jump for Nyheim Hines, and the guys question if there are any better backs to use besides the disappointing Hines, even though his workload will go up with the injury to Marlon Mack. Looking at the AFC North, Dane and George agree that the Ravens and Bengals need to make some long-term quarterback, as well as coaching changes.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show with Dane asking Scott what to do if you are a top tier fantasy team getting ready for the playoffs, saying it's time to start cutting the fat from your bench, and getting handcuffs, as well as streaming defenses, if you don't have the one of the top fantasy defense/special teams. One defense that Scott says you should stream, is the Broncos, who have an easy schedule as you head in to the fantasy playoff weeks. Dane and Scott find themselves wondering if they should be benching Aaron Rodgers, who has been dealing with injuries and erratic play, for guys like Jameis Winston. Looking at tomorrow night's match-up between the Saints and Cowboys, the guys agree that the Saints should win this game, but the Cowboys are no push-over, and will keep it a close game.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show looking at last night's victory for the Texans over the Titans, where we saw that Lamar Miller does not suck (162yards and TD), and that the Titans still have a shot at the playoffs. The guys look at both team's upcoming schedules, with Scott thinking the Texans still have a solid shot at the Super Bowl, but also think the Titans do not deserve to make the playoffs. Dane looks back at the draft year that involved Mariota and Kameis Winston, questioning his leadership abilities, with Scott saying Mariota is on a better track than Winston, and just needs a few more playmakers surrounding him; Winston, on the other hand, may be looking for a new home soon. Dane and Scott look at how the Jaguars have completely fallen apart, and how the end is near for Blake Bortles. Dane thinks there will be a quarterback merry-go-round next year, with possibly seeing Winston in Cincinnati, and Teddy Bridgewater staying put in New Orleans. A big injury to Jack Doyle has Dane thinking Eric Ebron will become a top 5 tight end, and a season-ending injury to Marvin Jones will give an uptick in value to Kenny Golladay.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel look back at all the action from Week 12, including big injuries to Melvin Gordon (MCL) and Andy Dalton (wrist); the guys look at what kind of impact these injuries will have as we get closer to the fantasy playoffs. The guys break down the Browns' first road win since 2015, and how Jarvis Landry has become an afterthought in the Browns' fantasy herd. Looking at the Giants' loss to the Eagles, the guys agree that the Giants' offense runs through Saquon Barkley, and they lose when don't utilize their best asset; Scott also was impressed with the running of Eagles RB Josh Adams.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show looking at some possible injury substitutions for the Thanksgiving week games, including the possibility that Mitch Trubisky sits out against the Lions, and if you should spend up on his backup, Chase Daniels. The guys look at some other injury issues, including Kerryon Johnson and now Marvin Jones Jr., as well as Baker Mayfield possibly missing this weeks game. The guys give their playoff predictions, with Dane and Scott agreeing the Colts have put themselves in prime position to run the table towards the playoffs, though more likely as a Wild Card. Dane and Scott give thanks to all the listeners as we get ready for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show looking back at the highest scoring Monday night game in NFL history, where the Rams bested the Chiefs 54-51, with Dane and Scott agreeing that they should have doubled the over/under for the contest. The guys were interested in the fact that out of the scoring in this game, Todd Gurley ended up with only 11 PPR points, pointing out how the game script was made for passing in Los Angeles. Looking ahead to Week 12, the guys try to structure rosters with news of players like Kerryon Johnson possibly out week-to-week, with Scott saying you should worry if you have Johnson as your top running back. There were many QB changes this past week, be it to injury or performance, and the guys question what impact moves like Colt McCoy and Lamar Jackson will have when it comes to Week 12 lineups and the fantasy playoffs.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the show looking at the big action form Week 11, including watching the QB carousel go around again as the guys question if the Bucs will stick with Jamies Winston for the rest of the year, after subbing in for Ryan Fitzpatrick against the Giants. The guys look at the big injuries of the week, including the gruesome ankle injury to Alex Smith and a knee sprain to Kerryon Johnson. Dane considers the Saints, who put a beating on the defending champion Eagles, as the clear favorites to go deep in the playoffs, and Drew Brees to be MVP. On the other side of that ball, the guys question if the Eagles' Super Bowl defense has come to a close. The guys also look at Lamar Jackson's day, and wonder if he should be under center the rest of the way for Baltimore.

Dane Martinez and Scott engel open the show looking back at the Seahawks victory over the Packers, citing how the Seahawks' have become a run-first team, and how the Packers may have issues—besides Aaron Rodgers' injuries—with the receiving corp (not named Davante Adams). Dr. A of Inside Injuries joins the show to talk about the availability of players like Marvin Jones, and also raises some red flags on fantasy stud Adam Thielen. Yesterday's freak snow event in New York has Dane questioning, as we get in to the Winter season, how much snow and rain has an impact on fantasy score, though Scott says the biggest weather impact is wind.

Scott Engel and Dane Martinez open the show with the guys saying giving advice to get rid of dead weight on your fantasy teams, including adding your handcuffs, and also having proper depth behind your top pass catchers. Nicks Mullens has been named the starter for the time being in San Francisco, and the guys question if he has value in 2-QB and Super-Flex leagues. Dane and Scott look at the impact that Stefon Diggs will have, now that he is back to practicing. In Washington, the guys question if Chris Thompson and Jamison Crowder are worth keeping on benches, citing injury problems with both, with Crowder missing the last six games.
