After suffering a severe traumatic brain injury in a horrific car accident while on a trip with her family, Martha spent 20 years trying to heal emotionally, mentally, and physically. 

She was simultaneously pursuing education to help better understand different facets of human health, nutrition, and communication to fuel her own recovery, and to be able to help others travelling a similar path.  

Despite achieving so much, Martha was struggling to find constant motivation within herself, and to regain her former ‘self’ from before her injury. 

Less than three months into working with Dr. Irene, Martha feels like she has finally begun to regain her past self, and even surpass that version of herself in many ways. Martha talks about finally having a sense of the future, an awareness of how to reach it, and the tools to do so.

In this episode of the Success S.H.I.F.T. Podcast, we have a profoundly moving and inspiring conversation with Jessie Torres, a certified master peak performance and transformation coach. Many people may be unable to heal from their trauma, believing that their suffering is unique. While it’s unlikely that we’ve all suffered every version of adversity, Jessie has definitely had more than her share. So, she understands what others have gone through who’ve experienced or witnessed sexual abuse, murder, suicide, physical abuse, depression, financial hardship, emotional abuse, and more. The truth often seems stranger than fiction, and Jessie’s story may seem more dramatic than a soap opera’s!

I want to acknowledge Jessie's courage in sharing her story and the importance of vulnerability in healing. Jessie’s story highlights how vulnerability – even when it doesn't feel like strength in the moment – can lead to transformation and inspire others.
