Stephanie Samuels is a psychotherapist who works exclusively with police officers. Ms. Samuels has lectured all over the country on PTSD and vicarious trauma, including undiagnosed PTSD and the fallout from departmental silence after officers are involved in critical incidents as well as how traumatic pasts play a part in an officer's career. Ms. Samuels is part of a renowned National Research Team looking into the role concussions play in the mental health of law enforcement officers and the potential connection to suicide. Ms. Samuels went on to create two law enforcement officer hotlines. She is the Founder and Director of COPLINE, Inc., the first Confidential National Law Enforcement Officers' Hotline in the country answered by retired officers.  She is the general partner of The Counseling and Critical Incident Debriefing Center, LLC, which specializes in debriefing and long-term counseling of first responders and their families. She taught at the Monmouth County Police Academy for 16 years and has been a guest lecturer at The FBI Academy in Quantico. Ms. Samuels was hired after the Boston Bombing as the Clinical Director of the Boston Police Department Peer Support Unit and co-founded the LEADER (Law Enforcement Active Duty Emergency Responder) Program at Harvard's McLean Hospital. Ms. Samuels has co-authored Under the Blue Shadow: Clinical and Behavioral Perspectives on Police Suicide with Dr. John Violanti Ms. Samuels writes the "Dear Steph" column for the New Jersey State Fraternal Order of Police Newspaper. Ms. Samuels got her Bachelors degree from UCLA, a Masters degree in Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, and a Masters degree in Social Work from Rutgers University, New Brunswick.

Carin Rosado is a 34-year old veteran of FDNY where she worked for a decade caring for the people of New York when they were the most vulnerable - when they were sick. Now Carin is sick and grappling with a diagnosis of Stage 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma. 

Currently, Carin spends her days caring for loved ones and baking her heart out. She bakes cakes for every special occasion her family and friends celebrate - the room lights up when she enters the room with her sugary baked goods. 

Carin also dedicates a significant amount of time as an ambassador to Bravest for Choice - a group that rallies for liberty and freedom.

Ariel J. Luna has been serving veterans in higher education and government for more than 18 years. Luna is originally from Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Starrett City section of East New York. AJ's mother is from the Dominican Republic and his father is from Argentina. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at the start of 2000 and he was stationed as a communication soldier in Fort Gordon, Georgia, South Korea, and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. After he left the Army in 2002, he joined the NY National Guard where he was deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2004-2005. While serving in the National Guard, Luna was pursing his bachelor’s degree at Brooklyn College. He completed his master’s in administrative science with a concentration in Non-Profit Organizational Development, Human Resource Administration, and Global Leadership from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2012.

After a successful tenure at FDU, Luna has recently appointed by Bergen County’s new County Executive, James Tedesco III, as the new Director of Veteran Services for Bergen County. Luna plans to bring his experience and expertise to serve the 30,000 resident veterans of Bergen County. Luna focused his efforts on housing, employment opportunities, and good service referral providers. 

Luna also served as the Deputy Director for the Office of Government and Community Relations for the NJ Department of Transportation from 2021-2022. He is also one of the founders of the NJ SOS Veteran Stakeholders Group.  A Northern NJ non-profit that hosts quarterly county meetings throughout the Northern part of the State that gives organizations an opportunity to network and refer veterans to various services in the community.  He assists in putting together Suicide Awareness Seminars to educate the community about resources available to veterans in crisis.  There have been successful events in Elmwood Park, Newark, and Trenton.

  He is married to his wife, Shevonne Murray-Luna, and has 2 beautiful daughters, Mariah Angel Luna, 10, and AJ Luna, 7.

Michele Traina is a stand up comedian and creator of Divorce Diaries a national one woman comedy show and TV series in development. Michele has performed all over the country and made appearances on Tamron Hall, Wendy Williams, Tea with Gary Vee, and onstage with Chippendales Las Vegas- for the Ultimate Divorce Party.  Michele uses humor to poke fun at divorce, being a single mom, and a former theatre teacher. Michele has won awards for Divorce Diaries TV Pilot, her short film 180, and has a comedy special on Amazon Prime - Michele Traina: Divorce Diaries. She loves love, that's why she got divorced.

When John Capone was first diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease (PD) at the young age of 39, he never imagined acting in a movie with A-list celebrities. The news of his diagnosis was tough to handle at first, and he quickly became overwhelmed overwhelmed by depression and anxiety. But this tough guy was determined to not let PD get the best of him. With the help of his friends, family, faith, and the power of social media, he chose a more optimistic path.

With six years of life with PD under his belt, John (now 45 years old) inspires others with his motivational and no-nonsense messages, and in an interesting turn of events, these messages gave him an unexpected opportunity of a lifetime.

In his effort to increase awareness of young onset Parkinson’s disease (YOPD) and support those who are having a tough time, John started posting messages of optimism and hope to others living with this disease on his Instagram account. His positive messages and unique delivery caught the eye of director Grant Singer who cast him in a movie – playing a character with Parkinson’s disease. Reptile will be released on. October 6th 23 NETFLIX

Angela Pisano grew up in Rutherford New Jersey during the 1960's and '70's.  Rutherford was a tree lined bedroom community of NYC.  She was an only child who lived with her mom and dad, and their terrier, Cindy.  She had a typical suburban childhood filled with all the trimmings; Mitzie and Larry made sure of that. There was one exception, that was a secret, which she held close since the age of seven.  Dad was in the Mafia.  He worked in NY and NJ often with various families, however if he had to be slotted he worked mostly with the Genovese Family from the late 1930's through  the early 1980's as a soldier.  In Angela's "outside" world dad was a baker in NYC, but in Angela's "inside" world dad was a "racket guy" and she knew he gambled with other guys and it wasn't legal. Sam DeCalvacante, Angelo "Gyp" DeCarlo, Ben "Lefty" Ruggiero were all men she spoke with on the phone, and met in person, among others.

Angela went onto college for teaching.  She graduated and taught elementary school, as well as middle school.  She married her husband Joe in 1985, a "civilian" and they had two children, Christopher and Gabriella.  Angela, just like that shed her inside world, and always lived in suburbia with all the trimmings, and no secrets, except her dad was in the Mafia.

Bill MAZUR is a 25-year law enforcement veteran and retired in 2017 at the rank of Deputy Chief of Police. Bill holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Stockton University and a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Training and Development in the Police Graduate Studies Program from Seton Hall University.

Bill is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session #256, and served as a Master Instructor with the FBI National Academy Associates, in their Comprehensive Officer Resiliency Training Program. He also acts as a Liaison for the NJ State Resilience Program for law Enforcement and actively serves on the Health and Wellness Committee of The NJ State Association of Chiefs of Police.

Bill has worked in the behavioral healthcare field exclusively, as a Public Safety Liaison, to provide specialized treatment guidance for public safety personnel, first responders and their families who may find themselves in a personal crisis because of a mental health issue or substance use disorder.
