Brian Reyngoudt is the Vice President /Co-Founder of Operation K9 Beethoven.  He was born and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey.  As the son of a 3 time purple heart Vietnam veteran it has been his purpose in his life to always to help our veteran’s and active members of our military. It has been such a great honor and experience for him to help veteran’s and their family members one paw at a time. 

Brian expressed that there’s a special happiness that comes when you help people.  It impacts their life but it also impacts your life more than they will ever know. Seeing the smiles and happiness is why Operation K9 Beethoven do what they do - Helping veterans one paw at a time.  Brian expressed that he wants to leave the world a better place than the way they found it.

Stefanie Shellhamer is a 32-year-old born and raised in New Jersey. She is a daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Stefanie is the daughter of retired police captain Peter Shellhamer, whom she adored very much. She has a unique understanding and perspective of law enforcement because of this relationship. Unfortunately, her father passed away suddenly in September of 2021 at 59, due to complications from Covid-19. This was a devastating blow filled with sorrow and confusion, as her father was an extremely healthy man, never smoked, and with no underlying conditions. Stefanie used this enormous loss to push her further into a career she is passionate about. A few months after his death, she applied and was accepted to graduate school at Ramapo College. Stefanie knew for many years that she wanted to be a therapist, but also had a knack for connecting and understanding people in a more social perspective. This led her to choose a Masters in Social Work and pursue this degree in a clinical lens, or in other words, become a licensed therapist.  

Stefanie will also be pursuing a drug and alcohol counseling license during her time in graduate school. This is something very near and dear to her as she is also a recovering addict with 5 years clean and sober. Stefanie is a member of a 12-step fellowship and volunteers much of her time to sharing her story, in hopes of helping the new person coming into recovery. The strength and perseverance it requires to overcome a crippling opioid addiction is something she attributes to her strong foundation. Stefanie feels that her success in recovery is due in part to her father, who never gave up on her, and refused to let her give up on herself. The theme of recovery from addiction, grief, and life after loss are all vital to her story. Stefanie believes that people are innately good, however the twists and turns we encounter on this road called life can throw us off course. This is why she chooses clinical social work and will continue to make a difference in her career and personal connections. She knows her father is still cheering her on proudly from above.

Taylor Cavanaugh went from jail, to Navy SEAL, back to jail, suicidal, to French Foreign Legionnaire. Learning to self-actualize his divine design via a correct system of life disciplines. Now he is on a mission to show others how to re-align their lives to experience peace and clarity by training the mind deliberately as well as the body. Showing others how to get their fire for life back

A graduate of University of California Santa Cruz, Taylor enlisted in the Navy in 2010, becoming a SEAL assigned to SEAL Team SEVEN. Deployed multiple times to the Middle East as a sniper, JTAC, and Advent Laden specialist.  Kicked out of the United States military for violation of Navy policy after seven years, then spending two years in the civilian world battling demons, poor habits, and lack of purpose, Taylor then flew to France and entered into the French Foreign Legion. Becoming the only SEAL/Legionnaire on record.  Deploying to the South American jungle as well as East Europe with NATO as a Fire Team leader.  During this brutal time establishing disciplined systems and daily practices that cracked the code on experiencing consistent mental clarity and inner peace which is now his mission to share.

On May 9th, 2024, Mike Failace sadly took his own life.  A man who impacted so many was put to rest and those that are left behind have to witness the fallout and the carnage by this permanent solution.  Mike Depalma and Bobby Crudele have been life long friends of Mike Failace and we all sit down to talk about the good and the bad that was my partner, brother, and best friend.  Join us on this retrospective of the co host of The Suffering Podcast Mike Failace.

FREDDIE MITCHELL has endured pain and suffering from multiple angles that would break most people.  Serving his country honorably in United StatesArmy, Freddie chose a life of service but found quickly. It was a calling. After leaving military service, FREDDIE applied and was hired by the Roseland Police Department to continue this civic lifestyle.

His personal life began to unravel fracturing. His family was still trying to maintain his most coveted job as a father to two children.    FREDDIE found himself in an ongoing battle, trying to maintain the stability of a home life for two young children while maintaining his work as a police officer. 

FREDDIE MITCHELL eventually lost the war with the Police Department but was able to maintain the stability of home life for his two children who he raised proudly into adulthood.

Gustavo Gutierrez was born in North Bergen, New Jersey to Cuban immigrant parents. As a child he was raised mostly by his grandparents while his parents were working, living the “American dream.” Cuban culture, strong beliefs, and food was always the center of his everything. He grew up in and around the kitchen, wether it was helping his abuela or making his own dinner, food was always at the center of it all. Wildly enough, a career in cooking was never at the forefront of his brain, it was figuring out how to deal with the principal in catholic school whose office he was sent to daily. Growing up in Hudson country, certain events changed the way he would see things. At the age of 12, a gun was held to his face. In that moement, he swore he would never be a victim again. But a kid with that mentality, who couldn’t sit still, placed in a rough neighborhood wasn’t the best combination. The path he chose after that moment cause much pain and grief in his life. Through many detours and lessons learned the hard way, he found himself finally having graduated an alternative highschool for “bad kids” after getting kicked out the others for bad behavior or not being able to pass a drug test, with no direction. The year after highschool was spent on the streets, surrounded by bad influences and making even worse choices. It wasn’t until the fear of going to jail made him sit down and figure out what he wanted to do with his life. He enrolled in culinary school, just to give him something to do, after realizing becoming a pilot was too intense. Little did Gus know, he would fall in love with the craft. Also little  did he know that that environment could also be toxic. It wasn’t until recently, about 10 years after graduating culinary school, that he realized it wasn’t actually his environment. It was him. It wasn’t until he started working on himself that his life truely changed. Gus’s wife, beautiful little girl, his business, none of these things could make him change himself until he needed to be the best version of him FOR them.

Suzanne is both a Registered Professional Nurse and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist actively working in the health field for the past 20 + years. Suzanne's experience in both nursing and counseling has informed her framework as a holistic mental health provider. Over the years, she has worked at a variety of milieus including outpatient community clinics, inpatient psychiatry units and private practices located in both central NY and Manhattan. Suzanne is the founder of her private practice, Heart in Hand: Individual and Couples Therapy,  located in central New York. She is licensed to practice psychotherapy in both NY State and New Hampshire. 

In her practice, Suzanne works collaboratively with her clients. She utilizes somatic therapy techniques and Narrative Therapy as her foundation while also interweaving from the models of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Jungian Psychology and the Gottman Method. She utilizes Jungian theory most frequently with dream analysis and archetype integration.Her primary areas of expertise are helping folks work through relationship difficulties, life cycle transitions, as well as addiction and eating disorder recovery. 

From March 2023-December 2023, Suzanne was featured weekly on CNY's Best Morning Show on Lite 98.7 during which she discussed relationship topics and dilemmas with then co-hosts Envy McGee and Dave Wheeler. Suzanne is currently a recurring guest on The Envy McGee Show which airs every Friday evening via WURD Radio. She has also been a contributor in a variety of podcasts discussing topics such as Symbolic Loss, Connection and Reincarnation.
