Heroes are charged with taking care of us in times of need, they keep up safe, they protect our lives. They need assistance from time to time. Today we remotely record at Live Free Farm for the Heroes Relief Fundraiser benefiting organizations dedicated to offer that needed help. The Suffering of Heroes Relief raises fund for Live Free Farm, Dented Development Project, 23rd Hour Angels, and The Suffering Podcast so that we may continue our work for our heroes. We meet and talk to some great people who have used their gifts and products to further the relief.

The Conclusion to the Blue Magazine's Blue Camping Law Enforcement and Friends Mental Health Retreat culminates in two amazing discussions with America's Sheriff David Clarke from Milwaukee Wisconsin and Therapist Ana Pais.  Sheriff Clarke is a voice of reason in a chaotic world.  His experience in Law Enforcement and willingness to stand by his values is a rare characteristic in this current society.  Sheriff Clarke is a staunch advocate of Police Wellness and Police pride.  Therapist Ana Pais know the pains of treating Police mental health as she is married to an Officer and sees that stress and trauma first hand.  Her compassion and willingness to devote her practice to the mental health of First Responders comes from her unique insight on the world that those who work in a life of service endure.

On this very special Remote podcast for The Blue Magazine's Moment of Silence Blue Camping Law Enforcement & Friends Mental Health Retreat, we sit down with a true Savior for Police, Dr. Eugene Stefanelli.  In practice for nearly half a century, Dr. Stefanelli has seen it all, especially the trauma that Police go through on a daily basis.  This man's compassion and understanding is a testament to those mental health professionals that truly specialize and strive to understand their patients, Dr. Stef has chosen to focus on combatting the stigma behind a profession that has the highest rate of Suicide, Law Enforcement.  Personally, Dr. Stefanelli is the main reason that The Suffering Podcast exists as well as the lives of both hosts.

Artie Del of 10-13 Survivors sits with us to discuss Police Suicide and the Suffering that is left behind.  Artie detail the horrors of his past that drove him towards the darkness coming within a breath of ending it all.  He has transformed his life's Suffering and repurposed that pain into a driving purpose to assist family's of Officers taken by suicide with his organization 10-13 Survivors.  This is a powerful episode that needs to be heard.

On this 20th Anniversary of the tragedy that was September 11th 2001, we pay homage to this mutual Suffering that we endured collectively as a nation with a rare Hero of the recovery, retired NYC Firefighter Billy Bartholomew.  Billy had a front row seat to the carnage of that day digging through the wreckage actively searching for survivors and the deceased.  His courage resulted in Cancer due to the recovery efforts.  His attitude is that of a true warrior, choosing to never give into the Suffering and fighting his cancer head on.  While his actions are the definition of what a hero is, Billy’s humble attitude doesn’t allow him to recognize how we see him.  Listen to this story and keep our collective promise to never forget.

Kevin Kearns is one of those rare individuals with a relentless attitude that is infectious.  On this episode we travel down Kevin's path from a bullied youth to a top level trainer, Author, Public Speaker, Coach.  Kevin then travels back down the dark path to rise once again and now add inspiration to his resume.  Kevin has chosen to embrace the Suffering and use his pains to assist others on their journey.  Kevin's first book "Always Picked Last" chronicles his journey from  bullied youth to champion martial artist.  His next book "There's Light In the Tunnel" is set to be released.

Wandely Torres-Czajka has overcome a difficult youth and adapted to her environment on numerous occasions to not only survive but to thrive.  From her upbringing in the Dominican Republic to a new life in the United States, from the military and finally onto a successful career in Law Enforcement, Wandely has shown that the only the limitation are the ones we put onto ourselves.  Wandely crushes the Stigma of a Female Police Officers by knowing her own boundaries and how to operate within those boundaries.  Every Law Enforcement Officer has aspects of the Job they are deficient and that they excel.  Being part of team allows us to play to the strengths of the team.  Wandely is a valuable treasure that is sorely needed on all departments.

Dan Trolaro has taken a journey with Gambling that can double as the plot to a horror movie.  Having Gambling in his life at a young age normalized his behavior until that same behavior became out of control ultimately leading to a life changing experience.  After going to prison Dan left that life of addictive gambling behind to rise and find his true calling.  By talking from a place of experience and understanding, Dan shows how to turn humiliation into humility.   Showing that recovered for a Gambling addiction is a one-day-at-a-time journey.  Now he is doing the work that he was always meant for by turning his Suffering into success.  Dan is a former Assistant Director of 800-Gambler and is now has a national reach as the Vice President of Prevention for EPIC Risk Management.  Dan is also the co-host of "Hello my name is Craig" with Craig Carton on WFAN.

Stuart Chirichella is a true Renaissance man who spent his youth in darkness but found a new path that enables him to find his true passion of helping others.  Stuart spent his youth looking in the wrong direction to fill a hole deep inside.  Drugs and Alcohol consumed him and stole a part of his life that we all take for granted, his youth.  It wasn't until sobriety and paying his redemption forward did Stuart find what fulfilled that emptiness inside.  Stuart is now one of the most respected people in Hoboken for the battle that he won and is now passing on his knowledge to people Suffering today.
