  • 27 Mar 24 – Holy Week: A Day by Day Explanation
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Mt 26:14-25  - One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, “What are you willing to give me if I hand Him over to you?” They paid him thirty pieces of silver, and from that time on he looked for an opportunity to hand Him over.
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples approached Jesus and said, “Where do you want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?” He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him, ‘The Teacher says, "My appointed time draws near; in your house I shall celebrate the Passover with My disciples.”‘“ The disciples then did as Jesus had ordered, and prepared the Passover.
When it was evening, He reclined at table with the Twelve. And while they were eating, He said, “Amen, I say to you, one of you will betray Me.” Deeply distressed at this, they began to say to Him one after another, “Surely it is not I, Lord?” He said in reply, “He who has dipped his hand into the dish with Me is the one who will betray Me. The Son of Man indeed goes, as it is written of Him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed. It would be better for that man if he had never been born.” Then Judas, His betrayer, said in reply, “Surely it is not I, Rabbi?” He answered, “You have said so.”

  • 26 Mar 24 – Rosary Rally at Drag Queen Fest Recap
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Jn 13:21-33, 36-38 - Reclining at table with His disciples, Jesus was deeply troubled and testified,"Amen, amen, I say to you, one of you will betray Me." The disciples looked at one another, at a loss as to whom He meant. One of His disciples, the one whom Jesus loved, was reclining at Jesus' side. So Simon Peter nodded to him to find out whom He meant. He leaned back against Jesus' chest and said to Him, "Master, who is it?" Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I hand the morsel after I have dipped it." So He dipped the morsel and took it and handed it to Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot. After Judas took the morsel, Satan entered him. So Jesus said to him, "What you are going to do, do quickly." Now none of those reclining at table realized why He said this to him. Some thought that since Judas kept the money bag, Jesus had told him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or to give something to the poor. So Judas took the morsel and left at once. And it was night.
When he had left, Jesus said, "Now is the Son of Man glorified, and God is glorified in Him. If God is glorified in Him, God will also glorify Him in Himself, and He will glorify Him at once. My children, I will be with you only a little while longer. You will look for Me, and as I told the Jews, 'Where I go you cannot come,' so now I say it to you."
Simon Peter said to Him, "Master, where are You going?" Jesus answered him, "Where I am going, you cannot follow Me now, though you will follow later." Peter said to him, "Master, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for You." Jesus answered, "Will you lay down your life for Me? Amen, amen, I say to you, the cock will not crow before you deny Me three times."

  • 25 Mar 24 – Peter Is Sleeping While Judas Is Awake
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Jn 12:1-11 - Six days before Passover Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus had raised from the dead. They gave a dinner for Him there, and Martha served, while Lazarus was one of those reclining at table with Him. Mary took a liter of costly perfumed oil made from genuine aromatic nard
and anointed the Feet of Jesus and dried them with her hair; the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. Then Judas the Iscariot, one of His disciples, and the one who would betray Him, said, "Why was this oil not sold for three hundred days' wages and given to the poor?" He said this not because he cared about the poor but because he was a thief and held the money bag and used to steal the contributions. So Jesus said, "Leave her alone. Let her keep this for the day of My burial. You always have the poor with you, but you do not always have Me."
The large crowd of the Jews found out that He was there and came, not only because of Him, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. And the chief priests plotted to kill Lazarus too, because many of the Jews were turning away and believing in Jesus because of him.

  • 22 Mar 24 – Letter to the American Church
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Mt 5:17-19 - Jesus said to His disciples: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets.I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do so will be called least in the Kingdom of heaven. But whoever obeys and teaches these commandments will be called greatest in the Kingdom of heaven.”

The Church’s tepid response to the LGBTQ movement and COVID-19 pandemic are just two of the topics addressed

  • 21 Mar 24 – Catholic Event for Trump Recap
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Jn 8:51-59 - Jesus said to the Jews: “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever keeps My word will never see death.” So the Jews said to Him, “Now we are sure that You are possessed. Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet You say, ‘Whoever keeps My word will never taste death.’ Are you greater than our father Abraham, who died? Or the prophets, who died? Who do You make Yourself out to be?” Jesus answered, “If I glorify Myself, My glory is worth nothing; but it is My Father who glorifies Me, of Whom you say, ‘He is our God.’ You do not know Him, but I know Him. And if I should say that I do not know Him, I would be like you a liar. But I do know Him and I keep His word. Abraham your father rejoiced to see My day; he saw it and was glad.” So the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old and You have seen Abraham?” Jesus said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.” So they picked up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid and went out of the temple area.

  • 20 Mar 24 – The Truth Will Set You Free
    Today's Topics:
    1) Gospel - Jn 8:31-42 - Jesus said to those Jews who believed in Him, "If you remain in My word, you will truly be My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." They answered Him, "We are descendants of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How can You say, 'You will become free'?"
Jesus answered them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. A slave does not remain in a household forever, but a son always remains. So if the Son frees you, then you will truly be free. I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are trying to kill Me, because My word has no room among you. I tell you what I have seen in the Father's presence; then do what you have heard from the Father."
They answered and said to Him, "Our father is Abraham." Jesus said to them, "If you were Abraham's children, you would be doing the works of Abraham. But now you are trying to kill Me, a Man Who has told you the truth that I heard from God; Abraham did not do this. You are doing the works of your father!" So they said to him, "We were not born of fornication. We have one Father, God." Jesus said to them, "If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I came from God and am here; I did not come on My own, but He sent Me."

    Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Mt 1:16, 18-21, 24a - Jacob was the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary. Of her was born Jesus Who is called the Christ.
Now this is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about. When His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, but before they lived together, she was found with Child through the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband, since he was a righteous man, yet unwilling to expose her to shame, decided to divorce her quietly. Such was his intention when, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this Child has been conceived in her. She will bear a Son and you are to name Him Jesus, because He will save his people from their sins.” When Joseph awoke, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took his wife into his home.

  • 18 Mar 24 – Angels are Important in These Times of Confusion
    Today's Topics:
1, 2, 3, 4) Gospel - Jn 8:1-11 - Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. But early in the morning He arrived again in the temple area,  and all the people started coming to Him,  and He sat down and taught them. Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman  who had been caught in adultery  and made her stand in the middle.
They said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught  in the very act of committing adultery. Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do You say?” They said this to test Him, so that they could have some charge to bring against Him. Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with His Finger. But when they continued asking Him, He straightened up and said to them, “Let the one among you who is without sin  be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again He bent down and wrote on the ground. And in response, they went away one by one, beginning with the elders. So He was left alone with the woman before him. Then Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She replied, “No one, sir.” Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”
