Have you ever played the game Two Truths and a Lie? It’s a silly, yet very fun game, where each person comes up with two things about them that are true and one thing that isn’t. One person tells the other person the three things, and then that person has to guess which item is the lie.
In this episode, Garth and Dara each share 3 things, and then the other person has to guess which isn’t true. This is a fun way for the audience to learn a little more about Garth and Dara, and for them to find out just how much they know about one another.
By the way, Garth tends to be very competitive, but, does he win? You’ll have to listen to the episode to find out.

In this honest and poignant episode, Garth and Dara open up about some of the more humorous things that can happen when someone is going through cancer treatment. Garth shares his story about how, when taking a sleeping pill he takes each night, he found himself mixing a drink, simple syrup and all, and how it played out. Is it a good idea to drink while taking sleeping meds? Probably not.
Dara discusses some of the experiences she had while going through her year long treatment plan, and how Netflix is a cancer patient’s friend.
Garth and Dara are clear about the importance of keeping a sense of humor and remembering to laugh, even when going through cancer. If you, or someone you love is dealing with cancer, try to remember to laugh. It doesn’t matter what you’re facing, there’s always a reason to smile.

In this first episode, Garth and Dara, both cancer survivors and THRIVERS, share their personal cancer stories. They talk openly and honestly about hearing those terrifying words, “You have cancer.”
Garth prefers a “Superhero” analogy when discussing his cancer origin story and Dara admits to taking a nausea pill almost every six to eight hours for the four months she went through chemotherapy.
They are honest and open about what they went through, how it changed them, and how hard a cancer diagnosis can be.
They share why they established the Thrive Podcast and how they plan to continue to help and inspire other people to make the most out of the rest of their lives.
Garth and Dara feel strongly that getting a cancer diagnosis isn’t a death sentence. They are here to teach you everything you need to help you move forward with your life, whatever challenge you find yourself facing.
While the Thrive Podcast talks a lot about cancer, since this is the lens Garth and Dara see through, it’s for everyone who wants to learn how to thrive in life.
