There's a lot going on in the world of professional golf and the theme has been, well, a total lack of clarity as to where we are and where we're headed. LIV, mergers, the ~fall series,~ Netflix Cup, TGL, all this junk and we still are left with little to no sense of how these entities interact, nor what each of them are going to be down the road.

One thing we do know is that the LIV tour's OWGR application being denied is a big deal. This potentially leaves in question the viability of LIV players who aren't exempt for majors for the long term having the ability to play in the events that pro golfers care the most about. If we have learned anything in the last few years, it's that the real golfers all still care about the majors. In light of recent of events, this seriously heats up the idea of LIV players figuring out how to get out of there to be able to have access to the game's biggest events. The potential merger means a lot here, but what we do know if that it's going to be an asbolute show.

We're back to talk about more course reviews! We like to do these to highlight golf courses that we think are best in class in their own unique way so rather than compare each golf course on the same set of metrics and expectation, we are here to acknowledge that there are so many great courses and for many different reasons.

Stew is back to break down his amazing summer of 2023, the prep and commitment that has gone into another successful run at and on the Walker Cup Team, winning his 3rd US Mid Am, and winning The Crump Cup at Pine Valley.

Of course by virtue of his Mid Amateur triumph, Stew will be competing in The Masters for the 3rd time as well as the US Open for the 5th time. Well, that was an interesting week. Maybe not quite what the American fans had hoped for, but the golf course, desired controversy, and juice from the environment all lived up to the hype we all desire out of the Ryder Cup. Always a fantastic week to be a golf fan, regardless of the outcome.

As you can probably gather from the title, Neal Shipley is not your average Amateur golfer. Nothing against many of my other peers of the past, but not many guys are as interesting as Neal.

Today we get into a great and somewhat wide ranging conversation about the notes above, the DERT of course, how Neal had such a great summer of golf, Waffle House, and more. I was highly impressed with Neal's outlook on golf and how it relates to our lives in general and his overall perspective on things.
