Blake Conant and Brian Schneider are two of the most experienced folks in the industry of course design, construction, restoration, and golf course consulting work.

Both sit atop a mountain of important projects as both have lent their expertise on courses many of us regard as "Bucket A" golf in the United States and the globe at large.

So when they show up to build a course on sandy, undulating, forest land in South Carolina, I'm going to take interest. I first visited over the holidays in '22 as the upper loop was completed. I then learned more about the founder of Old Barnwell, Nick Schriber, and his vision for the place- extending far beyond interesting golf.

It was the combination of the WHY behind OB and Blake and Brian's commitment to deliver something new and refreshing that makes this a story of its own.

What a week at LACC! Although  the reviews may have been a bit less positive than we may have expected, it was still an awesome week to be a golf fan and take in the 3rd major of the year.

We split time this week between being at the event vs watching on TV so we entered into a chat today about what the experience was like on the ground vs just watching from home. We also tackle some of the common complaints we were hearing this week and break down our thoughts on whether the issues people took with LACC were valid or not.

We're here! This is a week we've been fired up about for a long, long time and we couldn't be more excited that it's here. A major championship, on an incredible golf course, with a golf world that is in a super interesting spot, what a time to be having an event like this.

NCAA Golf was a hot piece of the golf landscape over the last few weeks and we consumed A LOT of it. As the years have gone on, more and more people seem to be really intrigued by what is going on in the college golf space; however, the communication through the broadcast of the format, who the players are, and the overall context of the championship just flat out needs to be better.

While some of the the people who have been involved in putting the broadcast on have been great additions to the championship, there are many people who are not involved directly that could add so much more value to the championship which is what today's conversation will center around. While the product has been strong and gained more traction overt the years, we believe it could be a lot better and there is a lot of further growth to be seen with the NCAA championships.
