This is an episode that has been a long time coming, and this felt like the perfect time to call in Coach Ray to talk about a big week ahead for the Stanford Cardinal at LACC. With 4 players in the field, it is already a historic week for the Stanford Men's Golf program and it will be awesome to see where things shake out over the course of the week.

While Coach Ray has 4 players in this week's US Open, his depth with this event and golf course go much further than that. As a competitor in the 2005 US Open, Coach Ray has a wealth of stories about The Cat, what it's like to be a competitor in a US Open, what he still takes with him from that week as a coach, and more. Furthermore, Coach Ray and i got into a conversation about what has happened in recent times in the golf world and what this could all mean for college golf and young talent in general.

We're here! This is a week we've been fired up about for a long, long time and we couldn't be more excited that it's here. A major championship, on an incredible golf course, with a golf world that is in a super interesting spot, what a time to be having an event like this.

NCAA Golf was a hot piece of the golf landscape over the last few weeks and we consumed A LOT of it. As the years have gone on, more and more people seem to be really intrigued by what is going on in the college golf space; however, the communication through the broadcast of the format, who the players are, and the overall context of the championship just flat out needs to be better.

While some of the the people who have been involved in putting the broadcast on have been great additions to the championship, there are many people who are not involved directly that could add so much more value to the championship which is what today's conversation will center around. While the product has been strong and gained more traction overt the years, we believe it could be a lot better and there is a lot of further growth to be seen with the NCAA championships.

The best part of pro golf or any pro sport is the figures we follow and how they develop as characters over time. This game certainly has many of them, but arguably none better than Rahm and Brooks in the current landscape of the game.

These are two guys who have had long careers in the spotlight, a ton of success, plenty of controversy, and have changed who they are and how they want to be seen many times throughout their careers.

To us, what makes each of these guys really intriguing as characters is that by in large their guiding light as athletes who live in the public light is simply authenticity. While sometimes they may curate answers and acts to the public, by in large they live by who they are, and allow people to take it or leave it.
