Two coastal gems. Today we take you to East Hampton, NY all the way out on Long Island and Bluffton, SC.

The common thread here is coastal/marshland golf and wind. Two courses that are different in many ways, but have a similar coastal vibe and exposure to the conditions. 

While they differ greatly, both courses have a wonderful sense of place, whether it is South Carolina low country or The Hamptons. Similarly, while the architectural styles of Pete Dye and Willie Park don't necessarily mirror one another, both have serious chops.

Fishers Island, Yeamans Hall, Augusta National, Central Park, Stanford University, Seth Raynor, Alister Mackenzie, the Biltmore Estate, what on earth could all of these things have in common? The answer is one of the great American landscape architects, Frederick Law Olmsted.

While better known for the college campuses and public works projects he would design, Olmsted was also involved with laying out the grounds and property alignment for many famous golf courses and facilities like the ones mentioned above... tune in to the episode to learn more!
