The Tip Sheet is as busy as ever despite the week off for the Parramatta Eels as Sixties, Forty20 and Clint sort through a bucket load of NRL news and happenings.
First up, and on a serious note, is the most recent update to the Dylan Brown's legal situation. The boys discuss what lies ahead for Brown following him pleading guilty to two charges on Wednesday. The NRL is yet to deliver their final punishment and regardless of how that falls, Brown has let plenty of people down with his actions.
A flurry of re-signings happened in the mean time for the Eels with Josh Hodgson, Daejarn Asi, Matt Doorey and Bailey Simonsson sorting their near futures out at the club. The contract talk segues to Bryce Cartwright following media reports of external interest in the in-form backrower as the panel looks at what it might take to pry him away from the Eels.
The NRLW has been busy as well with their roster finally locked in. With the competition around the corner the boys discuss their expectations for the new look squad and how their team identity might be shifting from what we saw in 2022.
There were some earth shaking revelations in the NRL this week with Justin Holbrook sacked by the Titans while Luke Brooks is a Silver Tail. For the Gold Coast they now turn to Des Hasler while the Sea Eagles went on a recruitment and retention spree with Brooks joining a number of other signings on the Northern Beaches. Tigertown is also in the spotlight this week with the departure of Brooks set against reports of clashes between Benji Marshall and Scott Fulton.
Reece Walsh copped a 3-game suspension for the expletive laden barrage he delivered to referee Chris Butler. Was it the right punishment? Could Butler have handled the situation differently? What can league refs learn from their union counterparts? The show looks at all of that and more.
