December 01, 2021The fear of getting betterOdd idea right? Scared to get better from an illness which keeps me prisoner. It’s the unknown isn’t it, I’ve been ill for so long and I don’t remember what it’s like to be healthy anymore so if I one day was just better what would happen? Would I just be expected to get on as if nothing ever happened? It’s scary to imagine this thing that’s controlled my life just disappearing but at the same time it’s what I want more than anything! I want to get better and be able to be at school like normal and get a job and meet up with friends and even go to the gym. I want it so much and yet it’s still scary! Today I chat all about this and the reality of what it can be like being scared to get better but also wanting it!...more17minPlay
November 24, 2021Mental health with cfs chatToday I chat about struggles with mental health when they meet with chronic illness and how they affect each other. Mental health with chronic illness isn’t something that’s talked about enough I feel, during lockdown when everyone was isolated it was all taken much more seriously and since then it’s felt like everyone just left us who are chronically ill in the dust. We’re not alone in this and I hope today’s episode can bring some comfort in the fact you’re not alone in whatever struggles you’re going through...more36minPlay
November 17, 2021The reality of A-levels + a chronic illnessToday I’m brutally honest about how I’ve been finding A-levels as someone with a chronic illness. It’s been really hard and I wanted to share some of my struggles incase anyone out there feels alone in what they’re going through. For anyone who doesn’t know what A-levels are they’re one of the education paths you can take in Britain between the ages of 16-18 and they give you grades to get jobs and to get into uni. They’re very full on and stressful and not easy to manage on a full timetable when you have a body which isn’t well enough for that....more26minPlay
November 10, 2021Just survivingI think we all can relate to the idea of just surviving in life and just getting buy. For me when I’m at school I am only just surviving, I get through class but then I’m too tired to do the revision or homework so then that gets pushed the weekend. That then turns into a catch up session and gaining enough energy back to manage next week and there’s not change or positive change it’s all just manage to get through which isn’t really very fun! I just wanted to chat about this idea incase anyone else relates to it or understands it....more24minPlay
November 03, 2021Feeling ashamed of your illness? You’re not the only oneFeeling ashamed of our illness is such a common thing within the chronic illness community and it’s often caused because people outside of it don’t understand and it leads us to feel we’re different and wrong for being ill which just isn’t fair. Today I chat about experiencing this and I go into why I think it happens. We don’t deserve to feel ashamed for something we can’t control and didn’t choose! Don’t feel scared to talk openly about your illness, it’s part of you and it’s not something to bring you shame. Have a great week everyone! New episode out here every Wednesday:)...more17minPlay
