This week Chris is talking about the history of the Women's Suffrage Movement in the USA. Starting in the mid 1800s, America is growing but the Declaration of Independence still holds true to "All Men are created equal". Women came together for the first time in New York to discuss their rights and that was remembered as the Seneca Falls Convention. Enter the Women's Suffrage movement. Women's suffrage is the right of women to vote in elections. We have women like, Susan B Anthony, Sojourner Truth, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Alice Paul and Carrie Chapman Catt fighting for women's rights. SHOUT OUT National Woman Suffrage Association! They came together to fight for the 19th Amendment and thanks to the industrial revolution, prohibition and many protests, they got the right to vote in 1920!
