Today I paid the highest tax bill I've ever paid—and I did it with so much gratitude. Not just because it reflects my biggest cash quarter to date, but because of how it happened. I paid it early. I didn't scramble. I didn't stress. My team handled it after my bookkeeper calmly calculated what was owed. And in that moment, I realized just how different making more money actually feels.
Because here's what I wish I had known earlier: making more money doesn't make things harder—it makes them easier. When you're in inconsistent $5–8k months doing everything on your own, it feels like more clients would equal more pressure, more burnout, and less freedom. But the opposite can be true. With the right support and systems, more revenue can mean more ease, more regulation, and more stability. And yes, there's a messy middle—but it's one worth moving through.
