Peter and Sylvia Stuart lived on Mill Lane in the village of Weybread in Suffolk. The couple were retired and enjoyed their time together; seeing family and going out and about. Therefore when neighbours hadn't seen them in a while, they grew concerned and contacted the couple's daughter. Police were soon on the scene and discovered a bizarre scene which led them to conduct a both murder investigation and search for a missing person.

On the 20th of October 1998, 40 year old Lyn Bryant went out for a walk with her Lurcher dog Jay in the village of Ruan High Lanes in Cornwall. At around 2:30pm a holidaymaker was travelling along a remote wooded lane when they discovered Lyn's body on the edge of a field close to the road. She had been attacked and brutally murdered. The question of who would have committed this was a huge mystery as Lyn was a mother and grandmother who was well liked in the village. A large investigation was carried out by Devon and Cornwall Police however to this day, Lyn's murder remains unsolved.

On the 24th of August 1908 Caroline Luard was out for a walk with her husband in the village of Seal Chart in Kent. She returned home to have afternoon tea with her friend and her husband went on to the nearby golf club. When he returned home he found his wife's friend at the house but his wife was not there. It wasn't long before he found her on the path that she took on her way home. She had been shot. What followed was a huge investigation and a series of tragedies for the Luard family.

In the early 1990's, Alan Leppard and Brenda Long had just started their new life together in Monkton in Thanet in Kent. They were both divorced from previous partners and knew that they had finally found the right one for them. On Easter Monday 1991, the couple had been having a quiet night in when a surprise knock on the door broke the silence. Alan went down to answer it and Brenda soon found him staggering back into the house. He had been shot on the doorstep. Police searched for any motive for the murder but found none. Just 8 months later Brenda herself would be dead, were these two deaths linked and if so, why?

On the 18th of March 2009, 35 year old chef Claudia Lawrence went to work as usual at Goodricke College at the University of York. She had a usual 6am shift and would leave very early for work. At the time Claudia was walking to work while her car was in the garage. She returned home and carried out her usual routine. When she didn't go to work the next day however her friends and family became worried. When her father went into her home with his spare key he found everything as should be with her breakfast plates still in the sink. A huge missing person investigation followed with many concerning aspects some of which have led back to the community in which she lived.

On the 4th February 1975, one of Ivy Davies' neighbours entered her home in Holland Road in Westcliff-On-Sea. She had become concerned, along with some of Ivy's employees at the cafe she owned, that she had gone into work that day. As she entered the home her screams could be heard around the street. Jaime Cheesman was 16 years old in 1993 when she decided to live her friend and her family in Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire. Jaime was from Wellingborough in Northamptonshire and travelled regularly between the two places to see her parents who she was close to. Jaime was due to see her parents on Saturday the 5th of November that year and had arranged this with them. On Wednesday the 11th of July 1917, Eli Glasspool and his daughter Edith retraced the route usually taken by their daughter and sister Vera May Glasspool. She was working at a local estate called Longwood House in Owslebury, near Winchester in Hampshire. She regularly returned home a short distance away on her days off on Sundays and Tuesdays. That previous Tuesday however she did not arrive and her family became worried. Around half way along the route, her father and sister came across her body by the side of the road and it was clear she had been attacked and murdered. What happened in this small village that day?

On Wednesday May 21st 1986, 72 year old Georgina, or Jean as she was known to her friends, did not turn up for her shift as a nurse in Broughton in Salford. She had retired 18 months previously but still had patients who she treated and visited regularly. When her boss could not get in touch with her, she went out to her home to find that the pane of her window was broken. The police were quickly called and they discovered Jean's body in the her bedroom. It was initially thought she had died from natural causes however it became apparent that she was the victim of murder. Police discovered a very quiet lady with a very private life and set about trying to find out what happened.
