  • Why you need to prioritise your strength training.

Training when short on time is hard, especially if you dont have any direction on what to do.

For me strength training should be paramount. Now that can take a lot of different forms.

It doesnt have to be all barbell work and back squats, but you need to prioritise strength work that will help maintain or increase muscle mass regardless of your goals.

This episode I go through why you need to and some recommendations on how you can do it.

Bodyweight training and circuit training wont get you gains forever.

  • Settling and Setting the example.

To settle for where you are, give up, or grit it out.

Now sometimes we need to walk away from a bad situation for our mental and physical health, other times when we feel like giving we need to grit it out and keep going. What example are we trying to set? I go through one question I ask myself when Im in these positions that has helped me to keep going in some of my hardest and darkest moments.

Keep at it, your doing well.

  • Draw a line in the sand and get onto the next play.

Not everything will go according to plan, in-fact most things wont.

What do you do when you miss out on doing something you planned to or needed to get done?

Do you try and play catch up? Or try beat yourself up about it.

This week I chat about a pretty common behaivour Ive found myself slipping into over the years and a mindset shift I made to try and overcome it.

Heres part 2, if you havnt done so go back two episodes and listen to Part 1 -Why I don't address nutrition first when working with someone.

This episode I go into some rough guidlines I use with people once we get to the point that this is the right direction for them. Its 3 major things and it is not ment to be a one size fits all, it also requires a bit of work bacause with anything in order to make it sustainable and mean something to you it cant just be copy and pasted from somewhere else.

Have a listen and let me know what you think.

Remember this is not ment to be health advice should you need help make sure you reach out to a professional!

Let me know what you think and about your experiences.

  • Setting Kids up for Physical success.

Obvioulsy we all want to set our kids up for success in all aspects of their life. Im sure helping them become physically successful and capable is no exception. In this episode I talk about some of the things Ive come across as not only a Dad but someone who has coached kids. I go thorugh some of my personal philosphies and things that I think may set kids up to be physically successful.

This isnt about creating super athletes, more about making sure they have confidence in themselves and how to move thier bodies.

Let me know what you think?

  • Why I don't address nutrition first when working with someone.

I have got so many questions about nutrition since I started this podcast. I have been putting off doing one on the topic because quiet frankly nutrition is a mindfield and not to mention there is no one size fits all approach.

I have decided to break down some info into two parts. Starting with this week and talking about why I personally wont address nutrition first when working with someone. I go into detail about what I have learnt over the last decade of working with people around their health and wellbeing and what I feel has been the best approach when I have worked with someone. This is not going to work for everyone we are all unique and our approach to what we consume needs to be address on an individual level to make sure that we are getting what we need physcially and mentally. If you are really struggling with this reach out to an expert in the area and nutritionist or dietitian will be able to get you pointed in the right direction.

Let me know what you think and about your experiences.

First off, I need your help. Let me know what topics you would like us to cover off on this podcast. Send us an email or message to the Socials or email below!

This week I cover off what training movements I feel are important for men to be able to perform, not only to show off your physical prowess but using these as a minimum standard will just make life easier.

Let me know what you think of these standards. Do you do them in your training program?

  • Somethings I try and do everyday, not hacks but actions to help me.

Today I was going to talk about hacks..... and how rediculous most of them are.

I still might at a later date, but instead I decided to chat about some simple actions that Ive implemented to help me and help my relationships.

Some people might try and sell you these as hacks or the ultimate morning routine....

For me they are just some things I try and do everyday, and I discuss some others Ive tried that havnt worked.

Let me know what you try and do everyday!

  • Finding Time.

Time, you cant get it back and you cant physically make more of it. You can however be more efficient with your time which can seem like you are able to create more of it.

This episode isnt a "Your priorities are all messed up" rant. I wanted this one to be about giving out some actionable steps to help find or create some more time to do the things you want to do but maybe feel you dont have time to.

As a Dad allocating time is a tough one, we have so many external factors pulling on our time. Hopefully this episode helps you find some valuable time for yourself!
