The View From The Lane: The Athletic FC's Spurs show

The View from the Lane is your twice weekly, award-winning Tottenham podcast from The Athletic.

Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Host Danny Kelly is with The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke, Charlie Eccleshare and James Maw to react to the news that Ange Postecoglou is Spurs’ new manager.

It’s been 72 days since Spurs sacked Antonio Conte - the same amount of time it took to appoint Nuno Espirito Santo after getting rid of José Mourinho!

So how good actually is Postecoglou, will he fit in, and what will come next for the likes of Harry Kane?

These are all questions answered by the panel.

It’s end-of-season awards time after what has been a rather quiet, uneventful campaign… yeah right.

The panel briefly assess the win over Leeds United on the final day, and then review some predictions from before 2022/23 campaign.

Then, it’s time for the awards!

See you next season.

That means the manager search goes on - now at 60 days since the sacking of Antonio Conte.

So why haven’t Spurs hired a new manager yet, and who could be next?

The journalists on the panel answer this, plus a question on how they cover the club while not being Tottenham fans.

Host Danny Kelly is alongside The Athletic’s Jack Pitt-Brooke and James Maw after an eventful final home game of the season.

Spurs lost 3-1 to Brentford in a game of two halves. But the boos were the story, really. There were boos after the full-time whistle, boos as the end of season awards were announced, and boos when looking back at the highlights of the season.

But… there is hope. There’s an update on the new manager search, with Feyenoord’s Arne Slot the frontrunner now.

There’s a manager & director of football to hire, sorting Harry Kane’s future and potentially replacing Hugo Lloris…not much then.

So how will these decisions affect the club short and longer term?

The panel answer the big questions, as ever, on The View from The Lane.
