Nancy MacLean is an increasingly influential award-winning scholar of the twentieth-century U.S., whose book, Democracy in Chains: The Deep History of the Radical Right’s Stealth Plan for America, is essential reading for all who care about democracy, and the fate of the Earth. She is the William H. Chafe Professor of History and Public Policy at Duke University.
