Alex Ovechkin led the charge by delivering huge hits the entire game.

Laviolette said Ovechkin’s physicality early on “set the tone.”

Laviolette: “This game, if we don’t follow it up, then that’s on us.”

Anthony Mantha recorded two assists in Game 3, marking his first career multi-point game in the playoffs.

Ilya Samsonov stopped 29 of 30 shots faced in Game 3, earning his first career playoff win. Samsonov is the 17th goaltender in franchise history to earn a postseason victory.
