The boys are back yet again and this time, Josh is fighting the post-concert bug following his MASSIVE bass show in Baltimore last weekend. He tells us all about the acts like Ray Volpe, LAYZ, ATLiens, and of course Excision. To kick off this week's sports talk, the boys begin with a much needed discussion on the temperature of Women's college basketball, and specifically how much of a DAWG Caitlin Clark is. The matchup between Iowa and LSU this week was highly anticipated, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Josh goes into a further explanation on why the star power in this game, as well as the NCAA as a whole, is incredible for the development of women's college basketball. Looking over at the Men's side, the final four of 2024 is officially set, and (shocker, we know) Dante was wrong about a sports take. The Alabama Crimson Tide shove it directly into his face and made the final four, along with one-seeds UConn and Purdue, as well as America's sweetheart DJ Burnes and the #11 seed NC State Wolfpack. The boys give their thoughts on these four outlasting the competition, and why they're so looking forward to these matchups. The Orioles season has finally started, and through one week the O's are 4-2. Despite winning two of three in both series so far, Orioles fans are mad online about Brandon Hyde's lineups (again, shocker). Dante and Josh look at why they think it's silly to have this stance in April, but also why some concerns being voiced are valid. The Houston Texans made a huge splash trade acquiring WR Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills in exchange for a future 2nd round pick on Wednesday, so the boys give their thoughts and why the Texans are doing everything the Ravens should have done. Lastly, the boys wrap up with their latest "what are we listening to" segment, and we send you all into the greatest weekend of your lives. We love and appreciate each and every one of you so much. On today’s episode of The Wave Podcast the boys are back and this time, Dante jumps into his recap of his FIRST experience down in Miami for Ultra Music Festival. Dant jumps into the overall experience at the festival and how the weather tried its hardest to stop the party, but ultimately the AMAZING team at Ultra worked tirelessly to get the park grounds ready to party on Saturday and Sunday. The vibes were immaculate down in Miami as Dante recounts his time in the crowds, and how the EDM community is one of positivity and unity despite what some may think. In terms of the actual music itself, our boy tells us the acts he was able to catch, who he thought were the top performers of the weekend, and also who surprised him the most with their sets. Josh and Dante also break down a fun first weekend of the NCAA Tournament and March Madness that was not as filled with upsets as we may have thought, but certainly some key ones to boot (cough cough Dante’s bracket). The boys break down some of the big notable upsets from the weekend, and take a look at the remaining 16 teams ahead of the sweet 16 and elite 8 coming up this weekend. The NFL is about to enter draft season, but free agency is still happening. This week, the Ravens lose yet another key starter, this time it’s edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney who signed a 2 year, $20 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. Josh and Dante take a look at why this is going to be a big blow for the Ravens defense, and why it’s even more crucial that Kyle Van Noy, who confirmed is talking with EDC, is brought back to Baltimore. Today is officially Opening Day for our beloved O’s so the boys take a look at the fun that is opening day in Baltimore, as well as their feelings on Jackson Holliday not being a part of said fun. Lastly, the boys wrap the show with their new favorite segment “what are we listening to?” with some fun bangers for you all this week. The boys are back this week and in this episode, they welcome in the best weekend in the sports calendar: the opening of March Madness. Josh and Dante run through the bracket and give their overarching thoughts on this year’s bracket, some longshots and upsets they like across the board, and some storylines they’re looking for this year. Dante shares his thoughts on some of the teams in the tournament (the Alabama Crimson Tide, for one) and who he thinks are primed to make a run, as well as who he thinks are primed for an early exit. After an extended bracket talk, the boys run the rundown of Ravens news this week. Odell Beckham Jr. shares a heartfelt goodbye after his first, and seemingly final, year as a Baltimore Raven. As anticipated, Dante is beside himself and playing “Marvin’s Room” at full blast. Josh gives his takes on why he thought OBJ would be a good fit to return to Baltimore and ultimately how the Ravens should address his now absence in the WR room. Kevin Zeitler announced he is signing a 1 year deal with the Detroit Lions for $6m. Dante and Josh run through why this is a perfect fit for the Lions and that they are ultimately very happy for both parties landing this deal. Dan Campbell is getting a good one in KZ. Jadeveon Clowney’s future remains up in the air as he’s taken visits with both the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, while also allegedly maintaining interest in a return to the Ravens. Lastly, the Ravens announced Tuesday that they have re-signed DB Arthur Maulet to a two year deal. Josh and Dante are ecstatic about the move, stating why Maulet was an essential retention for the Ravens and how his mentality will ultimately play a big factor in his role with the team. The Orioles are officially inside a week from Opening Day, and the boys are saying the same shit again: Jackson Holliday belongs on the opening day roster. The kid will simply not stop playing lights out baseball and we believe he is going to be at the Yard next week. Lastly, in spirit of Miami Music Week, Josh and Dante run back their “what are we listening to” segment and share some big tunes for everyone. The boys are back once again this week with a little extra excitement in their voices. Josh and Dante jump back into the show this week, once again, with talking some college basketball. Dante has another team this week that he is putting on ALMOST fraud watch. The boys break down this team, some of the power 5 conferences and who they’re excited to see face off in their respective conference championships. To cap off their college hoops talk this week, they name a few teams they believe will turn some heads over the next few days and who could make a run in the tournament beginning next week. Moving into the football talk this week, the boys dive into the first headline of the week being Justin Madubuike’s MASSIVE contract extension with the Baltimore Ravens. The all-pro DT coming off his best year as a pro got broken off in a big way to remain in Baltimore for the next four years. Josh and Dante break down what this means for Madubuike, why the timing of the deal was so important, and how Eric DeCosta can approach the rest of free agency. After the Madubuike signing, the new league year began with the “legal tampering period” on Monday afternoon. The Ravens lost a number of players, including some key starters including Geno Stone and Patrick Queen, who went to division rivals. Josh and Dante break down the loss of players for the Ravens this week and how they’ll fit in with their new teams. The Ravens also made a HUGE splash signing, finally getting their guy and adding Derrick Henry after many attempts over the years. The boys break down how they felt about the signing of Henry and ultimately how it will impact the team this year. Josh and Dante also take a look at some of the big signings of free agents around the league this week, and which teams have undeniably gotten better since Monday. Moving on from the NFL, the boys stop and take a second to admire the grand slam Jackson Holliday sent into orbit last week. On this week’s episode of the Wave Podcast, the boys kick off the show by letting Dante get something off his chest: the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball team is officially on his list. Saturday’s college basketball slate consisted of a number of big time games, one of which was Dante’s biggest play of the season. Turns out the Tennessee Volunteers were too much for the Tide to handle at home and not only did they not cover -3.5, the Vols won outright. The boys then spur into a conversation about the upcoming NCAA tournament and how this year feels especially up for grabs compared to years prior. Moving on from college athletics, the boys dive into some Orioles spring training talk. Jackson Holliday has woken up going on an absolute TEAR at the plate causing O’s fans to have the same exact thought: will he be on the Opening Day roster? Josh and Dante get into why the 20 year old phenom in the making is putting pressure on Mike Elias to do what everyone believes he should and make him an Opening Day starter. Also on the Orioles’ front, Colton Cowser and Kyle Stowers both continue their scorching hot Spring presenting another issue to GM Mike Elias, that being which of them should be a cog in the wheel of the major league roster, and which should be used as a potential trade chip? Josh and Dante dive into why this is a great problem for them to address and arguably the best spot the Orioles have been in prior to starting a season in a long time. Lastly on the Orioles, Gunnar Henderson is back and we can all sing Hallelujah. Moving on to the Ravens and the NFL as a whole, Tuesday was the league’s Franchise Tag deadline, on which we saw a number of star players get the franchise tag, including our very own Justin Madubuike. Dante and Josh explain why this was really the only play the Ravens had in the situation, and what it ultimately means for other players around the league ahead of free agency. Lastly, to wrap up the show this week, the boys take a look at some of the top free agents the Ravens have and where they believe those players’ best fits around the league may be. The boys are back this week and they kick off the show with a topic that’s been hot in the streets over the last few days: court storming. Duke lost to Wake Forest on Saturday which preceded the Wake Forest fans storming the court and “injuring” (sort of) Duke star Kyle Filipowski. Josh and Dante give their thoughts on the matter and, more importantly, why they believe court and field storming is an essential aspect of college sports. Moving into the professional realm, the Orioles are officially playing games which means we are one step closer to baseball season being here. The Orioles had their first game on Saturday in which we saw Corbin Burnes take the bump and SHOVE, Adley Rutschman leave the yard in his first at bat, as well as Colton Cowser walking off in long ball fashion. The birds are looking good so far, and Dante gives a few names he thinks we should be looking out for over the remainder of spring training. Manager Brandon Hyde also gave us an update on pitcher Kyle Bradish and, much to all of Baltimore’s pleasure, things are looking up for the young stud with him participating in some long distance flat ground throwing this week. The NFL world is still buzzing as it tends to do even when there are no games being played. The league announced that the salary cap will be shooting up meaning business is BOOMING… and we all owe Taylor Swift a big thank you. We get into what the elevated cap means for the Ravens as it currently stands and how this will help, if at all, retain some key players. Eric DeCosta and John Harbaugh addressed the media from Indianapolis this week and GM EDC actually had some stuff to say. Justin Madubuike will remain in Baltimore at least throughout the upcoming season, likely using the franchise tag on the stud D-Lineman if a long term deal is not agreed upon before next week’s deadline. Also, EDC has thoughts on how they’re constructing next year’s team. He and John Harbaugh have a vision that includes building around Lamar Jackson, “rebuilding” the offensive line, and making over the running back room. Last but not least, Dante dips his toes into the draft process giving us some of his favorite prospects heading into combine week. The boys are back on this week’s episode following the first official week with no football, and it went about exactly as you think it may have. To kick off the show, just as everyone expected, Josh and Dante start by giving their thoughts on the NBA all star weekend, why the dunk contest sucks, and why Caitlin Clark and Women’s college basketball are absolutely AWESOME right now. Additionally, the Sabrina vs. Steph 3-point shootout was a great event and the NBA should continue to do things like that. Moving into the sports and teams that our boys do actually follow closely, they kick off the Ravens talk this week addressing (after forgetting last week) the fact that Lamar Jackson won his second NFL MVP and was one vote away from earning the honor unanimously. The boys basically reiterate everything they’ve said since Christmas on why Lamar winning the award isn’t a surprise, and also issue an earnest “thank you” to Lamar for what he’s done this season and for Ravens fans as a whole. In other Ravens news, the team announced this week that they’ve extended receiver Nelson Agholor on a one year deal. Josh and Dante both agree that this is a great signing for the ball club and what they should do moving forward with the now unlikely reunion of guard Kevin Zeitler, who was not extended before Monday’s deadline as many anticipated he would. Following some housekeeping around the Ravens, notable Baltimore sports social media figure Zach Bollinger joins the show in a GREAT talk to discuss all things Ravens and Orioles. From how he got his start in sports media, to the infamous “Johnny” tweet, breaking down football with ESPN’s Mina Kimes, to his Baltimore Orioles hair power rankings, Zach chops it up with the boys. On this week’s episode of the show, the boys break down Super Bowl 58 and the Kansas City Chiefs lifting their third Lombardi trophy in five years. The Chiefs is still the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes is inevitable, and Brock Purdy is who we thought he was. The boys recap the game and give their takes on all things Super Bowl LVIII. Kyle Shanahan has now been involved with three teams that have blown double-digit leads in Super Bowls, so Josh and Dante weigh in on some of the Kyle Shanahan discourse that has been floating around the internet since Sunday’s game. Brock Purdy, on paper, had a decent game, but Josh and Dante give their thoughts on why Purdy being a game manager ultimately led to the 49ers losing this Super Bowl. On the other side, Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, and Travis Kelce are, unfortunately, inevitable. This Chiefs’ offense was the worst of his career, but Mahomes still led them to another Lombardi, proving that he is one of the greatest NFL players of all time. Dante stakes his claim that Mahomes is already a top 10 player in the history of the game, and that if he passes Joe Montana in Super Bowl wins (4), that he will have a case for being the “GOAT” over Tom Brady. In addition to Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, Steve Spagnuolo is an absolute madman who, once again, came ready to play with a phenomenal game plan that ruined Brock Purdy and the Niners’ offense day. Moving away from the big game, the NFL is officially in the offseason, which means a plethora of question marks surrounding the Baltimore Ravens. A laundry list of key free agents, a depleted coaching staff, the looming NFL draft, and salary cap issues are at the top of Eric DeCosta’s to-do list. The boys give their thoughts on how to address the cap, and who of the pending free agents should be prioritized by EDC. Lastly, Pitchers & Catchers reported Wednesday meaning that Spring Training is HERE. Dante and Josh are extremely excited for the O’s and cannot wait for the birds to get going. The boys are back again this week and it’s officially SUPER BOWL week! Before getting to the big game, Josh and Dante address the MASSIVE move made by Mike Elias and the Orioles, acquiring Corbin Burnes from the Brewers in exchange for DL Hall, Joey Ortiz and a competitive balance pick. Dante breaks down Burnes stats over the last couple years and why his addition provides a desperately needed anchor to the O’s rotation, and Josh explains why, for the first time, he’s more excited than ever for an Orioles season. Moving across the A and B lots to the Bank, the Ravens have found their next defensive coordinator. Former linebackers coach and all pro Ravens linebacker Zach Orr will be calling the plays for the defense in 2024. The boys weigh in on what Orr will bring to the team and why he was ultimately the right man for the job. In the same vein but more unfortunately, the rest of the Ravens’ coaching staff was picked apart by the NFL this week. Anthony Weaver is off to Miami to fill their defensive coordinator job, as is Dennard Wilson to Tennessee for the same position. The boys address the openings and how the Ravens are going to need to respond. Finally to the big game, the Chiefs and 49ers will play for the 58th Lombardi trophy on Sunday. The boys take a deep dive into both sidelines in the matchup, Dante does a preview of the unit matchups, and both our guys give their ultimate predictions for who will win this year’s Super Bowl. We’re back and everything sucks again. The Ravens season is officially over after losing to the Kansas City Chiefs 17-10 in the AFC Championship. Josh and Dante gather for a group therapy session in, what can only be described as the “Maryland weather of podcast episodes” observing the highs and lows experienced this week. They kick off the show breaking down the game. Dante gives his thoughts on why this breakdown isn’t much compared to some others because, simply put, the Ravens got beat. Josh and Dante both get into the story of the game and just what exactly went wrong for Baltimore in this one. In the fallout from this AFC Championship loss, the boys take a look at the overwhelming fallout that took place thereafter. They take deep dives into John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson, Todd Monken, Mike Macdonald, the Baltimore Ravens organization, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs becoming a dynasty, and just about anything else they could get their paws on after this week. Mike Macdonald has officially moved on and become the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, and Dante is genuinely distraught over the matter. The boys examine what losing their defensive wonderkind will mean for this team and ultimately the future of the franchise. Looking beyond the loss of Mike Macdonald, the Ravens also have a laundry list of upcoming free agents in a very rapidly-approaching free agency, leaving Eric DeCosta and John Harbaugh with a multitude of questions that need to be answered and fast. Super Bowl LVIII is officially set with the San Francisco 49ers taking on the Chiefs in Vegas next weekend.
