On this week's episode of the show, Josh and Dante first start off the pod by, rightfully, showing love to Orioles phenom Gunnar Henderson for unanimously winning AL Rookie of the Year. The Orioles season certainly didn't end the way anyone wanted, but Gunnar was one of the many bright spots in Baltimore this year, and he was properly rewarded with the unanimous honor. Pivoting to the other team in Baltimore, the boys have to dive into an ugly 33-31 Ravens loss at the hands of the Cleveland Browns. Amidst the discourse around John Harbaugh, Lamar Jackson, Mike Macdonald, or anyone else who should be "blamed" for this loss, Dante offers his two cents on the loss: Cleveland out-physicaled Baltimore. Josh and Dante dive into the ins and outs of this game on both sides of the football from both teams, and ultimately ask the question "what can be fixed and how?" It wasn't all bad, though, as the boys give flowers (no pun intended) to those who deserved them as there were some good performances this week. Turning around quickly to this week, the Ravens host the Cincinnati Bengals on TNF which is now dubbed by the boys, and much of Baltimore, as a must win. Josh and Dante break down the headlines entering this game, how both teams coming off bad losses effects this one, injury reports, and unit matchups. Dante and Josh both give their keys to victory, and what they want or need to see from the Ravens to walk out of this game at 8-3. Starting in the NFL, the Ravens absolutely curb stomp the Seattle Seahawks, getting another extremely convincing 37-3 win, the national media is starting to pay attention and show the Ravens love. Josh and Dante give their takes on national media loving up the ratbirds and how they feel about it. To recap the game, the boys discuss the incredible gameplan from defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald this week, as well as the great job he’s done all year with his unit. Dante and Josh also highlight some key players on both sides of the ball this week, including Kyle Van Noy, Odafe Oweh, and Geno Stone once again. Josh and Dante are back this week to talk about their Halloween weekend festivities, as well as some bonus Renaissance festival talk. They go right into breaking down the Ravens' 31-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals, which in large part was extremely forgettable. Lamar didn't light the world on fire, the defense didn't rack up a record breaking sack total, but the boys went into the desert and got the job done. Gus Edwards had his "I'm him" game, Michael Pierce reminded the league that he still exists, and Odell Beckham Jr. is throwing helmets in frustration. Josh and Dante dive into all the ins and outs, as well as one of the boys giving a shout out to a Punter. The boys move into a discussion recapping the NFL Trade Deadline headline by the Commanders moving Chase Young to San Francisco as well as Montez Sweat to Chicago. The Ravens were, allegedly, "leaving no stone unturned" as one reporter stated Eric DeCosta and Howie Roseman were calling around to everyone seeing where they could find a deal. In the end, however, the Ravens stand pat without making a move, despite being very involved in talks for both Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs, so Josh and Dante give their takes on how they feel about the Ravens deciding not to make a move. Further, the boys preview the Ravens' week 9 matchup against the Seahawks who are currently LEADING the NFC West. Seattle is playing good ball and are well lead by head coach Pete Carroll, so Dante gives his keys to victory in this game as well as examines the matchup of units, and Josh lets us know how he feels, and who he expects to have a big afternoon on Sunday. Before diving into the Ravens, the boys address the news from Wednesday afternoon that there are three Orioles who have qualified as finalists for the Gold Glove at their respective positions. They discuss who's most likely to win, and more importantly, who may have been snubbed. Moreover to the Ravens, this time around, they break down a 24-16 win over the Tennessee Titans in London. The Ravens were 0-1 prior to this passed Sunday in London, finally able to right the ship against the Mike Vrabel lead AFC South opponent. Josh and Dante break down the game, and give their thoughts on some of the things that went right for the Ravens, but also what didn't go right and will need to be ironed out ahead of this week's game. Also, the boys show some love to some key Ravens who played lights out this week, and have been doing so for the last few games. It truly has been an unforgettable season, and the boys just don’t' want it to end. Moving to the other side of I-395, the Ravens went into Cleveland and got a commanding win against the Browns, with a final of 28-3. Josh and Dante break down the game from last Sunday and give their thoughts as well as shout outs to those who played exceptionally well. Moving on to the game at hand this week, the Ravens on the road again within the division, this time traveling to rival Pittsburgh for their first matchup against the Mike Tomlin-lead Steelers. Josh and Dante preview this matchup, discussing headlines heading into the game, as well as their keys to victory for the Ravens. Also, good friend and recurring guest, and new father, Marc Roche joins the show to preview the MLB Postseason. They kick off the week discussing a weekend full of College Football, capstoned by a great game between Notre Dame and Ohio State, unfortunately ending with a Buckeyes walk off touchdown. The Orioles officially concluded their road schedule for the 2023 regular season, finishing a staggering 52-29 away from Baltimore, which is tied for the league lead with the Atlanta Braves. Splitting the series in Cleveland over the weekend, the O's come home entering the Beltway series with a magic number of 3 to clinch the AL East. The Orioles are at home for the final six games of the season, two with the Nationals and four with the Red Sox, looking to close out the season with the division in hand. Felix Bautista is throwing simulated games, with a limit of 25 pitches, which most likely means he's being ramped up for the postseason run. Dante and Josh break down what a potential return for the all-star closer would mean for this Orioles team in October. The Baltimore Sun posted an article asking if it's time to abandon the "Thank God I'm a Country Boy" tradition at Camden Yards, to which Josh and Dante simply answer "no." Lastly on the Orioles, with heavy hearts, the Baltimore community and fanbase lost a great one this week. The team announced Tuesday afternoon that legendary Oriole Brooks Robinson tragically passed. Dante tells the story of how he coincidentally met Brooksie in the Baltimore airport, and he and Josh give their tender condolences on the loss of Mr. Oriole. Moving on the the other team in Baltimore, the Ravens lose at home 22-19 vs Colts in over time in what can only be described as an "all things went wrong" performance. Josh and Dante dive deep into what lead to the Ravens' first loss of the season, what needs to improve, and also give credit where it's due on both sides of the field. The Ravens have their second divisional matchup this week as they head to Cleveland to take on the Browns, who are coming off a big win over Tennessee, so Josh and Dante both give their Keys to Victory and what they want to see in response to last week's debacle of a game. Even after getting punched in the mouth Thursday and Friday, the birds responded with an impressive start from Grayson Rodriguez Saturday night, and a gritty comeback win Sunday afternoon. Dante gives his thoughts on the response from these boys and what exactly that means and how it speaks to the identity of this team heading into the final two weeks of the regular season. Josh also gives his thoughts of the mindset of this team as we look to October, and who should be on the roster come playoff time. Speaking of playoffs, amidst the celebrations in the clubhouse Sunday evening, executives Mike Elias and John Angelos decided to join in on the fun, each taking turns bonging a beer from the dong bong, which one can ultimately assume lead to John Angelos' comments regarding his 30 year pledge to camden yards. Sounds like Scoot to Dante everytime he has a couple margaritas. Moving away from the Orioles, Josh and Dante dive into the Ravens' 27-24 victory over AFC North rival Cincinnati Bengals. Lamar Jackson was surgical, the offensive line was superb, and the defense was dominant in route to their win.
