The National Consumer Commission this week notified consumers that  Toyota South Africa Motors is recalling certain Toyota Urban Cruiser vehicles that were made available for sale through the Toyota South Africa dealer network nationwide . The recall affects two thousand two hundred and eight (2208) vehicles. Last week, The NCC also confirmed product recall of certain Qashqai Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) models, Toyota Land Cruiser 300, Lexus LX600 and Ford is recalling certain Ranger bakkies and Everest models. The question we are asking this morning is why are we seeing more vehicle recalls.. Finance Minister, Enoch Godogwana is set to appoint a new Board at the Public Investment Corporation, following the resignation of the Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo as the funds chairperson and other board members. Godogwana is in consultation with Cabinet regarding this matter in line with the Public Investment Corporation Act. President Cyril Ramaphosa this week released the National Water Action Plan. As South Africa's water crisis reaches a breaking point, the presidency says the National Water Action Plan (NWAP) outlines strategic interventions to address the water crisis over the short, medium and long term, with the aim  to address the root causes of the water supply challenges in many municipalities. Some opposition parties in Parliament expressed their disappointment with the judgment of the Western Cape High court - that granted President Cyril Ramaphosa's urgent application to interdict the Impeachment Committee. Ramaphosa sought the interdict, pending his review application of the Section 89 Independent Panel report that found he has a case to answer for the Phala Phala theft. The committee was established following a Constitutional court ruling in May - directing that it should investigate whether Ramaphosa should be removed from office. In April this year,  Dignity South Africa filed papers in the North Gauteng High Court in Pretoria to challenge the current law that makes it a crime to assist a person in ending their life, no matter the circumstances. The application is basically asking the court to declare the current blanket common-law prohibition unconstitutional, unlawful and invalid. Dignity South Africa, an organisation that advocates for end-of-life care, says that while the process is expected to take some time, this is the first step in legalising Medical Assistance in Dying in the country. The EFF is set to launch its election manifesto for the upcoming local government elections in Thohoyandou in Limpopo today, also marking the party's 13th anniversary. The party will be address by its leader, Julius Malela who is also expected to announce mayoral candidates for key and strategic municipalities and metros. The National Treasury has defended its decision to temporarily withhold 13.5 billion rand equitable share transfer to 69 municipalities. The National Treasury accompanied by the Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana were in Parliament to brief a joint meeting of the four committees of the institution about the decision they have taken. Treasury says initially there were 99 municipalities out of the 267 in the country, whose funding was supposed to be withheld. However, the figure has since been decreased to 69 because some of them complied with their revenue requirements. The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi together with the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP), Adv Andy have expressed concerns on the developments emerging from the Madlanga Commission relating to the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC).  This follows testimonies by witnesses, making serious allegations on the conduct of IDAC officials and its head.
