The ANC Integrity Commission has recommended that the party's Secretary General, Ace Magashule step down pending the finalisation of his corruption case. Magashule is facing corruption, fraud and money laundering charges dating back to when he was Free State premier. The commission will submit its recommendations to the National Executive Committee which will rule on the matter early next year. Meanwhile, the ANC's integrity commission in KwaZulu-Natal says it's satisfied with the explanation the former eThekwini mayor Zandile Gumede has given and as a result had given her the green light to return to her positions in both the ANC and the provincial legislature. Gumede was asked to step aside after she was arrested in connection with the alleged fraud and corruption in the awarding of a waste removal tender.
