The Commission of Inquiry into State Capture is now investigating allegations levelled against its secretary Dr Khotso De Wee, who was implicated in the evidence of former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi. The Commission released a statement saying it takes the allegations against De Wee in a serious light. In his testimony Agrizzi implicated De Wee in his affidavit as one of the Senior Officials of the Department of Justice who were paid bribes by Bosasa. Meanwhile, The Economic Freedom Fighters has called for the immediate recusal of Dr De Wee from the judicial commission. The EFF said it had been proven right as the party questioned the commission`s secretary decision on the venue where the enquiry is being held. The International Criminal Court granted an application by prosecutors and ordered that former Ivory Coast president Laurent Gbagbo be detained until a new hearing is convened in February. On Thursday prosecutors made a last minute appeal against his release. Earlier this week Gbagbo was cleared of charges of crimes against humanity during post- election violence in 2010. However Prosecutors argued that he was a flight risk and that the decision to free him could result in an irreversible situation in which Gbagbo refuses to return to court. The authorities in Zimbabwe again cut-off internet services yesterday, four days after the start of anti-government protests that have seen at least three people killed and dozens more seriously injured. The country's largest mobile operator ' EcoNet' says it was ordered to shut services until further notice. Critics say a similar blackout earlier in the week was aimed at blocking images of the Zimbabwean security forces' heavy-handed actions during demonstrations against a spike in the price of fuel. Opposition presidential candidate in the Democratic Republic of Congo Martin Fayulu , has filed an appeal in the constitutional court against last month's poll result. Fayulu insists he won the vote and has demanded a manual recount, but the electoral commission declared rival Felix Tshisekedi the winner. Chief Khoi-San SA and his six supporters says they do not support the Traditional and Khoisan Leadership Amendment Bill. The group has been camping for a second time for more than a month at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, waiting for President Cyril Ramaphosa to declare them the first nation and to give all the land in South Africa back to them.
