Police have arrested several of their colleagues accused of breaking the law during the lockdown. So far, over one hundred police officers are behind bars for alleged corruption during the national lockdown. Police Minister Bheki Cele says all implicated officers must be axed from the service if they are found guilty. Meanwhile, the Gauteng Department of Community Safety and the Provincial Police have condemned allegations of corruption levelled against six members belonging to the South African Police Service. The officers were arrested for allegedly stealing an amount of thirty seven thousand rand from a car passing through a Covid-19 lockdown operation on the old Bronkhorstspruit and Witbank road in Pretoria. Although South Africa is moving to Level Four of the nationwide lockdown on the first of May, most lockdown regulations remain in place. South Africans are instructed to stay home except for those who will be going to work. Addressing the media on what is to be expected during the Level Four, Cooperative and Governance Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma says it will be mandatory for all people permitted to leave their homes to wear face masks. Workers at a poultry farm in Skeerpoort, near Brits in North West, say their employer has allegedly denied them permission to go out and buy essential goods. They say he has also denied them access to healthcare services, since the nationwide lockdown began. Instead, the employer started a tuckshop business, which sells goods at inflated prices. The employer, who denied the SABC access to the farm, refuted the allegations. Keadi-milwe Moalusi reports....
