Christians in India are being accused of forcibly converting people at a medical camp Three of them were taken into custody by the police on Sunday

William Stark of International Christian Concern told The World View why these accusations were made

In the most recent case we saw in the Bihar pradesh there was a medical camp that Christians were running and there was a complaint by one of the Hindu villagers that said They said to me that I would be healed if I believed in Jesus Christ So his accusation basically said they were trying to induce me to convert to another religion Which wasnt the intention of the person that was sharing their faith

Stark said that this was not a case of forced conversion but radical Hindus often use the conversion laws to oppose Christ followers

Unfortunately now we are seeing more and more ultra-Hindu nationalists who if youre out proselytizing or spreading the message or even handing out Bibles in public places that can lead to 1 being beaten and then 2 being brought to a police station with the accusation that youre trying to forcibly convert people

Stark said that sharing the Christian faith is not prohibited by law

It is legal for an individual to share their faith with another person Under Indias constitution I think its Article 25 individuals have the right to freely believe practice and propagate the faith of their choosing which propagating would seem to say you can share your faith with another person whether they asked or not

Middle School Students in New Jersey Indoctrinated in Islam

Two middle school moms were not happy when they heard that their seventh grader sons were being indoctrinated in Islam at Chatham Middle School in New Jersey The teacher instructed the students with the phrase May God help us all find the true faith Islam

Richard Thompson President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center told The World View that this sort of thing is increasingly common in public schools today

This situation is not uncommon at all its happening all across the country where the public school system now is becoming a pro-Islamic voice and is endorsing Islam over all the other religions In a general way the courts have said school districts may not endorse or appear to endorse a specific religion

Thompson also said that Christianity would never be tolerated in public schools noting that Islam is being taught as the only religion in these cases

Normally thats been used when school systems have tried to put up Ten Commandments plaques on walls or school prayer or Bible reading There appears to be a double standard when it comes to Islam

And finally Thompson warned that parents need to be aware of what their children are being taught

One of the things that parents have to do is become more and more aware of what their children are learning in school Parents cannot just look at a textbook What is going on in many instances is the resource materials that the teachers use are not even included in the curriculum or are not presented to parents

Bill Allowing States to Defund Abortion Providers Clears Senate

The United States Senate took an important step towards defunding Planned Parenthood yesterday afternoon

Vice President Mike Pence made the tie-breaking vote on a bill that would allow states to withhold funding from abortion providers Two liberal Republican senators Lisa Murkowski from Alaska and Susan Collins from Maine voted with the Democrats The bill has already cleared the House and awaits the Presidents signature

The World View spoke to Mallory Quigley Communications Director for the pro-life group Susan B Anthony List about this historic vote

We are so thankful that Vice President Pence was able to come in and cast the tie-breaking vote this afternoon so that states are no longer forced to fund Planned Parenthood through Title X Its the first time in two years the Senate has taken a pro-life vote of this nature but really its the first big pro-life victory in about a decade
