The Vicar of Baghdad said Christianity is finished in Iraq However The World View spoke to Emily Fuentes of Open Doors a Christian persecution watchdog group for their take

It is not completely dead in that there is still a remnant still those who have chosen and are able to stay who are determined to be the light of Christ in this nation even though it is so difficult even though many of them have lost homes family members dont have resources such as food and water on a daily basis have lived as refugees for countless years and so these people are choosing to stay

Fuentes shared a miraculous story of how God is using the Christian remnant in Iraq

So these four churches have been distributing food and clothing on a weekly basis and would have lunch together and then offer a sermon They were doing this one week and they noticed an extremist came up You could tell by the way this man looked the extremists often have the beard and no mustache in this part of the world He was also saying some fanatical statements The pastors gathered together and said What should we do They really felt God telling them to bring this man in And so they did They gave him lunch and he heard the sermon and he was the first one to get up and give his life to Christ after hearing the sermon

President Donald Trump released his budget proposal yesterday and the highlights include massive cuts for the Department of Health and Human Services Department of State Departments of Education Labor Agriculture Transportation Energy and the Interior

The EPA will get a 31 decrease and that includes the elimination of 3000 positions Trump is proposing eliminating funding for the National Endowment for the Arts PBS and National Public Radio

The budget includes a 10 increase for the Department of Defense and increases for Homeland Security and Veterans Affairs Despite the deep cuts proposed conservative news commentators are skeptical much of it will survive through the congressional wheelings and dealings

Patricia Harrison president and CEO of the federally funded Corporation for Public Broadcasting CPB said the cuts would devastate and ultimately destroy public medias role in early childhood education public safety etc

The White House is also asking for 15 billion from Congress right away to commence construction of the Mexican border wall

Well abortion is a right in this country Women have their own views on whether or not they want to be pregnant That is not a viable fetus at five and a half weeks anyone knows that And what you would do is make your own choice

Right right but I mean what specifically do you think You work at the countrys biggest abortion provider If you can hear the heartbeat of this thing this fetus what is it Is it a piece of tissue Or is it a separate human being

I think thats up to each individual to decide what they believe but women in this country one in three women have an abortion during their lifetime Obviously they are making their own choice

The World View spoke to Cheryl Sullenger Vice President of Operation Rescue Sullenger said that there is one reason Planned Parenthood is reluctant to call abortion the taking of another life

If she had admitted that that is what she believes and that that is what is going on inside of their facilities I believe it would have really hurt their public relations and it would have hurt their business When people think that an innocent human life is being taken through abortion they have a tendency to oppose abortion

Samaritans Purse Workers Were Arrested Not Kidnapped

And earlier this week a news report incorrectly claimed that the South Sudanese aid workers with Samaritans Purse had been kidnapped while helping with food distribution

The World View spoke to Ken Isaacs of Samaritans Purse who explained what really happened

We were waiting for the security situation to improve and then on Monday we got a call from the government of South Sudan officials telling us that eight of our staff had been kidnapped and they were being held for food ransom And then there was a press release made saying that same thing As soon as we got the call we called the local commissioner He is not with the government He is on the opposition side He said that they had not been kidnapped He said I arrested them I detained them He said Im going to let them go tonight or in the morning

Isaacs also said that this incident sheds light on the greater problem that is facing South Sudan

What all of this has done is to illuminate the deep deep tragedy of South Sudan a country that fought a civil war for its independence for 23 years had the favor of the international community had Gods favor on it The churches come together The tribes had come together and this opportunity has been frittered away by weak leadership greedy leadership brutal leadership
