The X-Foils Podcast Case 16!
This week, stoked to share a good conversation with my long-time friend, George. We met in Playa del Carmen back in 2012, and when I moved to Puerto Rico, George discovered the beauty of the wind and conditions that we have here. Now, he visits us every year for a month with his family.
George was one of my very first kite foil student in Mexico, and seven years later, he learned to wing foil with us in Puerto Rico. We have a rich history together, filled with fun adventures and memories.
In this episode, George shares his favorite foil spots in the Bay Area, some entertaining stories from winging at Mavericks, and his experience trying to design a foil with ChatGPT. It’s an episode packed with nostalgia, laughter, and valuable insights for all foiling enthusiasts.

This week our guest is Michael Vicens, the owner of Seakindly Foil School, which claims to be the first efoil-only school in the world. Rightfully so, as Michael was there at the inception, working with Lift Foils for their new innovative Efoils Try It and Buy It program.
Michael's background is as fascinating as his current ventures. He used to be a commercial pilot and an air traffic controller, which has given him a systematic approach to all our adventures and his lesson programs. Unfortunately, an injury pivots his life, but during his recovery, Lift Foils reached out to him to help build the Efoil. This opportunity was a turning point – foiling essentially saved his life, providing a new passion and purpose and fueling a whole new industry.

One of Randy's early interests was prone foiling, a discipline he thought might not be the future, but hit it hard anyway. This Case number 7 of the X-foils Podcast we sit down with Wren Dougherty.
What can we say about Wren! She Chose a perfect balance between Puerto Rico in the Winter and The Gorge in the Summer time to stay on foil as much as possible. Focusing on wingfoil racing, and mastering the art of Downwind foiling this summer.
You can find Wren at the reef floating on her wingfoil gear taking videos of the community, with a smile and extra stoked to just be in the water!
Her mentors and foil figures are all Masters on a foil and choose speed as their best friend. Johnny Heineken, Ken Adgate, Kiko Dalmau, Nils Stolzlechner and many more foilers helps Wren along the way get to the speeds she is at now. Whether it was getting her boards shaped on the edge of progression or hooking it up with Windex'ed Mikes lab foils, there is lots of amazing watermen/women on her path. There is no doubt she puts in more time than most, and thats the difference.
