Dear Listener,
Today I'm joined by Dr. Jessica Leigh Rabon for a conversation about all or nothing thinking and how mental health can impact our relationships with food. Throughout our conversation, we explore the connection between stress, anxiety, and other mental health related concerns and how they can impact our eating + hunger cues. She also shares some tools related to identifying "mental hunger cues" and how they can be important indicators of our bodies' need for fuel!
Dr. Rabon is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in pediatric psychology. Her clinical interests include depression, anxiety, chronic medical illnesses, LGBTQ+ health, and eating disorders. She has published a number of peer-reviewed research papers and a book on topics such as suicide, depression, anxiety, self-compassion, gratitude, and forgiveness. Additionally, she creates mental health content on TikTok and Instagram and hosts a podcast, Psych Talk, with the goal of making mental health more accessible and relatable, and destigmatizing mental health.
If you’d like to learn more about Jessica and her work, you can find her on IG and Tiktok @jessicaleighphd. You can also tune into her podcast, Psych Talk, wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks for joining us today and don’t forget to tap those five stars if you enjoy today’s episode!
