I'm moving to NYC! Here's just a short rant about what's going on in my life. This is a pretty vulnerable episode that may be a bummer to listen to but I want to listen back to this in 6 months and see little naive Zen trying to wrap my head around what is going to happen.

I hope you get something out of it!

On this episode of the Zen Perry Project, Zen sits down with Hunter Kelly, guitarist and lead singer of an up-and-coming Santa Cruz rock band, Trestles! Hear about how Hunter and the band came together in spite of the pandemic, as well as how their commitment to a DIY ethic and use of a throwback recording program culminated in their new album "Halfway Up the Hill".

The Zen Perry Project aims to highlight the humans behind the art that we love. Every aspect of a song, album, art piece - even the little details we might not consider - it's all the result of dedicated artists who work hard at their craft. Join Zen on this journey to find and fully appreciate these passionate people and their incredible work - you never know who might inspire you!

In addition to interviews with artists, The Zen Perry Project is currently featured on KPCR 101.9FM, Pirate Cat Radio - every Wednesday at 8pm, don't miss Zen's hour which he spends showcasing talented, esoteric bands touring through the Bay Area.

Welcome to the Zen Perry Project, your source for the best live music in the San Francisco Bay Area. This week, we have a packed lineup of concerts and interviews with some of the hottest local and national acts. We recently played our interview with Bread Boy, and we had a great time partying with him after the show. Be sure to check out our archive for more great interviews, and stay tuned for more to come.

We're starting off the hour with a track from Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters, who's playing tonight at Moe's Alley. Up next, we have Rini and Alejandro Aranda, who will be playing tomorrow night in Santa Cruz and Felton, respectively. On Friday, we have Gangstagrass and Switchfoot, who will be performing in Felton and Monterey.

Saturday brings the unique sounds of Mac Sabbath, a burger-themed Black Sabbath cover band, to the Catalyst. And on Tuesday, November 20th, we have comedian Hari Kondabalu and violinist Lindsey Stirling playing in Santa Cruz and San Jose.

We'll be closing out the show with a tribute to the late Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac. Join us next week for a special end-of-year episode, where we'll be reviewing our favorite music, movies, and more from 2022. Thanks for tuning in, and have a great holiday season.
