In this episode we will be talking about the anniversary of the COVID-19 pandemic and discussing how anniversaries of stressful or traumatic experiences may bring up the same emotions that were felt/experienced at the time of the stressful or traumatic event. This last year has definitely been one of collective trauma in which everyone has been impacted in one way or another; from losing the social connections we had, to losing loved ones to covid-19, to transitioning to working at home for individuals that were able to do this, to taking so many safety precautions, a rise in issues with mental health, to social justice movements & political chaos that showed us again how oppressive the systems we navigate are. There is a lot of grief associated with what was lost over the past year and we will also discuss that, as well as our own experiences related to the last year… We want to state that if you are not emotionally ready to listen to information on the one year anniversary of the pandemic, feel free to skip this episode and take care of yourself as best as you can. We look forward to connecting with you on Instagram (@therapytalks.clp) where you can share with us your thoughts on this episode. *The music on this episode is “Verano Sensual” by Kevin MacLeod
