There are movies…..that just by the trailer, heck, just when you hear the castings, you know are going to be silly. That doesn’t mean that they’re going to be bad, it just means that they’re going to be made with the only intent of making their audience laugh, and not taking themselves too seriously. I think today’s topic is one of those movies. We’re talking about the Jamie Foxx film, Day Shift!
“A hardworking dad out to provide for his daughter uses a boring pool-cleaning job as a front for his real gig: hunting and killing vampires.”
This is a silly vampire movie that is also funny and entertaining. Jamie Foxx is trying to make money so that he can keep paying the bills that his son needs. In order to do that, he has to get back into the vampire killing profession. Dave Franco adds so much hilarity to this movie, and then there is Snoop Dogg, playing………..well Snoop Dogg! Go check it out if you haven’t yet!

Today’s topic brings a film series much closer to its original than many other sequels do. This is the seventh film in this franchise if you don’t count the Alien crossovers, otherwise this is the ninth installment into the Predator franchise. Prey is the topic at hand today!!
“A skilled Comanche warrior protects her tribe from a highly evolved alien predator that hunts humans for sport, fighting against wilderness, dangerous colonisers and this mysterious creature to keep her people safe.”
Prey brings the franchise back home, and so much closer to the original Predator that we all have a lot of love for. A Comanche warrior is doing everything she can to prove that she is just as much a warrior, or more, than the rest of the tribe!! She puts those efforts to the test up against the Predator! This is definitely the best Predator film in recent memory, and arguably (aside from nostalgia) the best film in the whole franchise. You should definitely give it a whirl!

Neil Gaiman has been creating amazing projects for a very long time. There are many many fans of a lot of his work, but today’s topic happens to be one of his most popular. The Sandman is a Gaiman special when it comes to comic book fans! Netflix just turned that awesome comic book into a series, and we’re here to talk about this newly minted series!!
“Premise. Morpheus, the personification of dreams and one of the seven Endless, is captured in an occult ritual in 1916. After being held captive for 106 years, Dream escapes and sets out to restore order to his realm, The Dreaming.”
Dream was accidentally captured, and all of his belongings were stolen. This is the story of him trying to get all of his items back, reconciling with his siblings (the ones who want anything to do with him at least), rebuilding his domain, and understanding that even the best of us change over time. This is definitely a series that is worth the watch, especially when it comes to aesthetics! Just be warned, a few of these episodes are tear jerkers!

It’s pop culture classic time! The first season of this series came out in 2011, making it eleven years old, and perfect for our next pop culture classic topic!! For Juan, it’s special, not only because he watched the whole series as it was coming out, but because he absolutely loves Lawyer drama series like this!! We are of course talking about the series, Suits!!
“Set at a fictional New York City law firm, it follows Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), who uses his eidetic memory to talk his way into a job as an associate working for successful closer Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht), despite being a college dropout who never attended law school.”
Yes, the premise of this show sometimes makes the show hard to believe, but it’s only there in order for you to fall in love with the cast, and fall in love with their stories. From watching Louis grow into a great leader, to watching all of the names that go on and off of the wall, and to watch the beautiful love story that is Harvey and Donna. It’s a lot of show to take in, but especially for that last part, the series is totally worth the watch.

It’s been three really long years before there was a full version of San Diego Comic Con!! There was a special event held last year, but it just wasn’t the same. If you’ve never been to any San Diego Comic Con, you definitely need to make the trip! It’s not as hard as everyone thinks it is, in order to get a key, you just have to be persistent!!
But, during this episode, we talk about what it was like for me to visit SDCC for the first time, covering the show, by myself. I’ve done that before as an attendee, but this was the first time having to cover it by myself. This comic con is SO unique, in that the whole city of San Diego takes the con super serious. Restaurants dress themselves up, there are parties everywhere, and you’re just engulfed in the show!! We also talk about some of the news that came out of the show!

Today’s topic is a tv series that was based off of a comic book! It takes it roots from the comic book series, and does a pretty good job of keeping in line with the book!! We are talking about the Prime Video series, Paper Girls!
“Paper Girls follows four young girls who, while out delivering papers during the dark morning hours after Halloween in 1988, become unwittingly caught in a conflict between warring factions of time-travelers, sending them on an adventure through time that will save the world.”
The show tells the story of a group of paper girls who accidentally travel through time! They must figure out how they travelled in time, plus their story isn’t that simple. They also end up figuring out that they play a much bigger role in the “time wars” that they’re running from. It’s worth the watch, you definitely need to go check it out!

Our awesome guest today, Kersti Bryan happens to be featured in the very first episode of the NEW, Tales of the Walking Dead!! An anthology series set in The Walking Dead universe!!

It’s comic book time!! We try our best to take a trip back to our roots every once in a while, and this episode takes us back to those roots, talking about the comic book from Image Comics, The Closet!
“The story centers around Thom’s family moving to Portland and his insistence to Jamie that the monster in his old closet will not be in his new closet. The metaphor for the usually mistaken idea that a change in location resolves personal and family problems are obvious.”
Written by James Tynion IV, and art by Gavin Fullerton, this is a story about a broken family! A married couple on the brink of getting a divorce decide that starting anew in a different state might help fix their relationship. Adding to the mess, their only child is having a recurring nightmare about a monster in his closet, while he deals with the breaking down of his mother and father. Is there really a monster following him through the country? Is this just a manifestation of what is going on in the broken home? It’s a three issue mini-series, so you should definitely give it a chance, and go pick it up at your local comic book shop!

Jordan Peele has been making some very interested movies these past few years. Today’s topic is no different, in the weirdness scale. It’s pretty different as far as the alien genre movie goes, but it seems to be pretty on coarse for a Jordan Peele movie!! I think that the pair of us may have thought it went just a tad too far in that direction, but what did you all think of the Jordan Peele film, Nope?
“Two siblings running a horse ranch in California discover something wonderful and sinister in the skies above, while the owner of an adjacent theme park tries to profit from the mysterious, otherworldly phenomenon.”
What happens when two siblings find something in the sky that they don’t know how to explain? On top of that there seem to be many disappearances? For the most part, this is a film in the alien genre, but I promise, you’re not going to be able to predict what happens at the end of the movie!! You definitely need to check this out, even if Peele’s movies aren’t always for you!
