We’re on the third season of a very crazy tv show! This is one of those shows that you watch because you KNOW that it’s crazier than batshit. Whether it’s a season full of penises being shown, or people shrinking down and going into other people, apparently people really like that kind of stuff. We are of course talking about the third season of The Boys!
“It’s been a year of calm. Homelander’s subdued. Butcher works for the government, supervised by Hughie of all people. But both men itch to turn this peace and quiet into blood and bone. So when The Boys learn of a mysterious Anti-Supe weapon, it sends them crashing into the Seven, starting a war, and chasing the legend of the first Superhero: Soldier Boy.”
This is usually where I tell you that it’s definitely worth the watch, or hell no you shouldn’t watch. But honestly, I’m not really sure where I land on this show. I think that everything we watch you should at least try, so in that sense, it’s worth trying to go watch it. BUT, if you’re not a fan of over the top violence, or sexual innuendos, then this is definitely not for you. Watch season 1, episode 1, see what you think, and if it’s your thing, then you’re never going to stop watching.

Every once in a while we are just absolutely stunned by one of the topics that we get a chance to watch and talk about. Today’s topic is one those times. Not only is the cast absolutely amazing, but Apple TV has spared no expense in making this series looking absolutely beautiful as well. From space, to the ships, to the environments, and ALL of the different storylines, we were literally taken aback! We’re talking about the series, Foundation!
“The Foundation saga follows revolutionary Dr Hari Seldon, who predicts the impending fall of the Empire, and joins a band of loyal followers to venture to the far reaches of the galaxy to establish ‘The Foundation’ in an attempt to preserve the future of civilization.”
There is so much going on during this series that it’s almost impossible to explain in a small blurb. There are clones that keep cloning themselves in order to stay in power, and to keep their kingdom at all costs. There are heretics, and there is also some kind of time travel, PLUS this giant object out in the middle of nowhere that nobody knows how to explain. Though there are many things to pay attention to, we promise that it’s worth the time!

Almost thirty years since the original, and probably the best, dinosaur movie created, we’re still getting sequels. Now, whether or not those are good, is up for interpretation. BUT, here we are, and for today’s episode, we’re talking about the latest 2022 installment, Jurassic World: Dominion!
“Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history’s most fearsome creatures.”
This is the third, and what seems like will be the final Chris Pratt, Jurassic World trilogy! This brings to a head a cloning storyline that has been being told for the first two movies, and brings back all of the original main characters from the very first movie that sparked this whole dinosaur world! One of us tends to think that this is an ok movie, and one of us really doesn’t like it at all. Hopefully you all will watch and let us know who is right!

It’s pop culture classic time everyone!! The film that we’re talking about today is a sequel, but really only in name. The first movie, aside from the characters, has very little to do with this movie. This sequel actually is the starter to a bigger arch that spans many different films itself! We are going all the way back to 1982 to talk about Star Trek II The Wrath of Khan!
“As Adm. James T. Kirk (William Shatner) and Capt. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) monitor trainees at Starfleet Academy, another vessel from the United Federation of Planets is about to try out the planet-creating Genesis Device in a seemingly deserted portion of space. In the process, two of Kirk’s officers are captured by Khan (Ricardo Montalban), an enemy Kirk thought he’d never see again. Once more, Kirk takes the Enterprise’s helm, where he meets Khan’s ship in an intergalactic showdown.”
In all their hokey glory, we learn more and more about Captain Kirk, and Spock. We learn about Kirk’s failures as a captain, but also as a father. But, we do also get to learn about his good sides, especially when it comes to Spock. They grow a really great relationship with each other in this movie, which carries the storyline into future movies! Though, cinematically this might not be the “best” Star Trek movie to date, it is regarded as most peoples’ favorite of the Star Trek movies.

It wasn’t until a few years ago that anybody even thought that we might need anymore Star Wars. The prevailing theory is that any of the new Star Wars content has not been up to snuff. That was at least, until recently, when the expanded universe in the Star Wars worlds have been deemed excellent. The Mandalorian blew the lid off this world, and it’s been growing ever since that point. We also didn’t know that we needed an Obi-Wan Kenobi series, until just recently, and I think our expectations were met!
“Set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005), the series follows Kenobi as he sets out to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia (Vivien Lyra Blair) from the Galactic Empire, leading to a confrontation with his former apprentice, Darth Vader (Hayden Christensen).”
Listen, this might not be the perfect series, but to be honest, I’m not sure if that even exists right now! BUT, this is pretty damn close, especially with a seasoned Ewan McGregor, and anytime that Darth Vader is on the screen! Don’t miss the boat on this series, so make sure you pick up that remote and go watch it!

Half of the new TOTLB team is a pretty big fan of the older Star Trek shows. Juan, the newest member to team Star Trek has been pretty much on board with anything new Star Trek. Today’s topic has spun off from Star Trek Discovery, a Star Trek series that isn’t the most well liked, BUT he likes it none the less. The spinoff seems to be gaining much more steam though on Paramount+ than it’s predecessor. We are talking about Star Trek Strange New Worlds!
“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds follows Captain Christopher Pike (played by Anson Mount) and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) in the 23rd century as they explore new worlds throughout the galaxy in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series.”
With Strange New Worlds, it looks like Star Trek is going back to the days of old, when they were telling monster of the week stories, over big over arching stories during the entire seasons. Yes, there are things that tie everything together, but this definitely seems to be Star Trek of old! If you haven’t checked it out yet, you should, and then tell us if we’re right or wrong on how we feel about the series!

It’s always fun when we get to interview interesting people! More fun than that is when those interesting people come back for another interview, and it’s even more and more interesting! Today we have an awesome pair of guests on the show, with a returning guest in Wes Robinson!! Joining Wes, is L.C. Holt!! They’re on the show in order to speak about their upcoming film, Watchdog!
“After narrowly surviving a violent mugging, Travis Wilkes invites the drifter who saved him back to the isolated home where he and his girlfriend resides, not realizing that he’s opened the door to a night of terror and bloody revenge.”
Watchdog is currently going through an Indiegogo which our team has already supported because we believe in Wes Robinson whom we’ve had on the show before, AND because L.C. has done an amazing job with the projects that he’s taken on so far!! We talk about the film, and talk about how their careers have progressed up to this movie! If you’re a fan of horror, and you’re a fan of indy films, THIS is definitely a project that you should consider supporting! Go check out their previous work, and we know that you won’t be disappointed with your investment! Heck, maybe you’ll be the first kill of the move!?

From last week’s venture to 1986, we jump all the way to 2022 for the sequel!! This movie is about three years in the making as COVID pretty much put a hold on everything! We saw the trailer for Top Gun Maverick at Comic Con International in 2019! So, we are indeed talking about this much anticipated sequel!
“After more than 30 years of service as one of the Navy’s top aviators, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is where he belongs, pushing the envelope as a courageous test pilot and dodging the advancement in rank that would ground him. Training a detachment of graduates for a special assignment, Maverick must confront the ghosts of his past and his deepest fears, culminating in a mission that demands the ultimate sacrifice from those who choose to fly it.”
If you were a fan of the original, I think you’re also going to live it’s predecessor! This movie seems to be much like the first, but not in a complete remake way, but it seems to borrow all of the fun parts of the original movie, and add some new things. It’s by and large, definitely, a Top Gun film! It’s worth the watch, and worth the time, even if you might not be the biggest Tom Cruise fan!

One year before I was born, a young Tom Cruise was thrown into stardom. Now, it’s arguable whether or not this movie was the movie that really shoved him into the clouds of being an actor, but if you don’t think it was the start, you have to admit that it probably did more for his career than most anything up to that point. We’re going all the way back to 1986, to talk about the Tom Cruise film, Top Gun!
“The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School is where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills. When hotshot fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) is sent to the school, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor put him at odds with the other pilots, especially the cool and collected Iceman (Val Kilmer). But Maverick isn’t only competing to be the top fighter pilot, he’s also fighting for the attention of his beautiful flight instructor, Charlotte Blackwood (Kelly McGillis).”
This is a pretty simple movie, but it is a lot of fun! So much fun that it has such a crazy big fandom. It wasn’t until the sequel came out that we realized how many people really love this original!! This episode tends to stray into some more serious topics other than the movie, but if you haven’t seen this movie somehow, definitely go give it a watch! If for nothing else, give it a watch for the simple entertainment.

The topic for the day is on it’s fourth season, and so far has been pretty successful! Four seasons, and we were in the middle of the season when we recorded this podcast, so this episode does not deal with the rest of the season, and the subsequent last two episodes. BUT, that will come in the future I’m sure!
“The first plotline takes place in Hawkins, where several teenagers are killed in mysterious ways. It features Dustin Henderson, Max Mayfield, Lucas and Erica Sinclair, Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, Robin Buckley, and Eddie Munson, the leader of the Hellfire Club; a Dungeons & Dragons group that includes Dustin and his friends. Eddie becomes the prime murder suspect and is hunted down by Jason Carver and members of the basketball team, who believe that Eddie killed Jason’s girlfriend, Chrissy Cunningham, using satanic powers. Dustin and friends investigate and discover that the murders were carried out by a powerful being that lives in the Upside Down, an entity who they later dubbed Vecna.”
This season so far has a lot of fun and dark themes!! The team is separated, and the adults are also separated. This season seems to feel like it’s all about being united, while not being in the same room. Trusting that the rest of the team is going to accomplish what they need to accomplish. We get to see some very familiar bad guys, while also meeting THE bad guy, Vecna. It feels like a good continuation of the story, and feels like it will be a good lead in for the fifth and final season of the series!! If somehow you haven’t watched, it’s time. Go watch this show!
