Summer is meant for flinging! No, not just as in a “summer fling”, but tossing aside anything that no longer nurtures our spirits. Half of the year has gone, and this is a time of reevaluation. Fortunately, the sign of Cancer invites us back into Mama Earth’s womb, swimming in the oceans of emotion and creation. What inhibits your flow and what inspires you?

This month is also about feeling at home. They say home is where the heart is, so consider what it would feel like to make yourself at home in your heart. How can you nurture yourself so deeply, acknowledging your own needs and wants, that you feel love radiating from every aspect of your being? Allow yourself to feel so good that it feels like home no matter where you are! If emotions are stuck, try some movement, like yoga or dancing wildly in your living room. If your emotions are erratic, release with passion! Try journaling or some other form of artistic expression.

This month is all about what moves you…what feeds your soul and nurtures the air of your existence. And we can’t access the sign of Cancer without considering family connections. Regardless of what you may feel about your family, beyond hurt and disappointments, can you see how you are exactly where you are meant to be because of that foundation? And family is not always biological, sometimes they are chosen, but they are your family, nonetheless.

The key, though, will be to acknowledge how your family connections have influenced who you are today. Give thanks for the exchanges that have made you stronger, the lessons that have supported your growth and the love that extends the reach of all other emotions and experiences. Being ruled by the moon, Cancer also reminds us to honor the Divine Feminine, the Goddess in all living things. Remember that your abilities to feel and create are powerful! Be mindful of what you’re creating. What you feel and believe are the seeds of that which you are manifesting now. Are you creating from LOVE or hurt? Heal and forgive, then create, consciously, for the journey that awaits at your feet. 

Cancerian Gift: May you feel brave and proud in the face of your emotions, bearing your heart and your soul for the moon to illuminate, reflecting back your inherent beauty. May you feel the love of divine mother; nurturing you with each breath you take, reminding you that home is always exactly where you exist. You need to do nothing more than acknowledge the LOVE that you are!
