Kelly Kolodney is a spiritual teacher and intuitive guide who has spent nearly four decades helping people better understand themselves, manage emotional overwhelm, and reconnect with clarity and purpose. Her work began in 1989 after a deeply personal spiritual experience on Thanksgiving that she describes as opening an ongoing connection with Archangel Raphael, known in spiritual traditions as the angel of healing.  

Her approach centers on helping people slow down mentally, release emotional stress, and shift limiting thought patterns through guided meditations and what she calls “light code” transmissions. Her work emphasizes self-love, energy healing, and ascension, guiding individuals toward unity consciousness rather than separation, division, or polarity. The intention is to support people in feeling more grounded, clear, and connected to themselves in a practical, lived way. 

With more than 111,000 followers across social platforms, Kelly offers private readings that support personal transformation, emotional healing, and spiritual growth. Her work feels especially relevant right now as many people navigate uncertainty, burnout, and a search for meaning, and look for tools that support emotional resilience and inner stability. Through live online sessions, courses, group experiences, and private guidance, she offers a blend of meditation, reflection, and intuitive development designed to be accessible even for those new to spiritual concepts.

Happy July, Alchemist! Get comfortable and let’s reflect on the transition from June’s Gemini-to-Cancer seasons, dancing between mind and emotion, encouraging curiosity, balance, and self-awareness.  

July continues in Cancer (moon-ruled) before shifting into Leo (sun-ruled), highlighting the luminaries and moving us through feelings, into illumination. There will be emphasis on self-nurturing, redefining love/home/family, and consciously managing mind and emotions.   The month’s oracle teacher is the Flight card, building on June’s Lemniscate theme of harmonizing polarities to dissolve self-imposed limits so that we can now take flight.

A year ago, Awakening Airwaves began as an idea rooted in connection, curiosity, consciousness, and the desire to create meaningful conversations around spiritual practices. In this conversation, Mama Mut Ra-t, a contributor to Mama Ifetayo’s anthology, Reiki Heart and Soul: Many Stories, One Bright Light, shares her story “The Journey of a Generational Cycle Breaker” Her story reflects on early childhood in New Orleans, her mother’s passing when she was eight, being moved to Brooklyn under strict church rules, later learning her father had died, and ultimately reclaiming her freedom and independence. She describes a dark night of the soul in her early 30s after divorce and becoming a “happy, healthy parent”.  

Mut Ra-t is a dedicated advocate for women’s wellness and empowerment, with a rich background in holistic self-care and community support. Raised in a nurturing environment surrounded by strong woman, Mut Ra-t’s journey of self-discovery and womb wellness began early in life. She deepened her understanding through rites of passage with Queen Afua and ancient practices with the Shrine of Khepera. As a doula, she witnessed firsthand the profound impact of self-care and communal support on woman’s health. Inspired by the book, “The Red Tent,” Mut Ra-t and her tribe of Wombkeepers created sacred spaces for woman to connect, share and heal though, Pink, Red, and Purple Tents. Her mission is to transform homes into Moon Lodges, where woman and girls are supported by their families as Wombkeepers, fostering a culture of open communication and holistic care. Mut Ra-t is committed to spreading this practice globally though her writings, consultations, and community facilitation.

Years after our initial conversation, I reconnect with Tonya Parker, a contributor to “Reiki Heart and Soul,” to discuss how her relationship with Reiki shifted into something she embodies, crystallizing during her 2020 training with Frans Stiene. Susan Stone is an Artist, Author, Reiki Master, Intuitive Healer/Counselor, Ordained Minister, and Initiated Shamanic Practitioner After a massive heat stroke in 2013, Susan had to give up her career as a professional gardener and reinvented herself as an entrepreneur. Starting her first brick and mortar business in 2017 when she opened ZenDen…a metaphysical, crystal, sage, and gift store.

After selling ZenDen at the end of 2022, Susan needed a quiet place to paint and to finish her next book. And true to her nature…within six months, The Arts was born! It celebrates all the arts - the creative, the music, the healing and the mystic arts. Today I interview Susan Stone, a contributor to the book “Reiki Heart and Soul: Many Stories, One Bright Light,” about her path from decades of addiction and trauma to sobriety and healing through Reiki. Susan recounts a 1988 car accident that left her with compound-fractured ribs and years of untreated injury, leading to nine years on narcotics and worsening health, and describes how entering AA in 1997 and meeting her sponsor Holly led her to Reiki.

After sessions with Reiki practitioner, Elaine Roy, Susan took a deep breath for the first time in nine years and found her ribs visibly back in place. She discusses later experiences including being struck by lightning in 2010, a quantum healing session that restored her vision, her work with “heavenly helpers” during sessions, and her community offerings through The Arts Port Royal, free Reiki clinics, animal Reiki, and Reiki training for children, along with her books “We Heard You” and “The Magical Nature of Humans.”
