In today's episode, I connect with Julia Arndt who shares her personal story around burn out and her decision to leave Google after 7.5 years. In our conversation, we chat about how pervasive the 'culture of productivity' is globally and how it can easily manifest into disconnection, and the loss of your self and inner voice. Julia shares how she took her experience and turned it into a lifelong journey of helping others *before* they even get to the point of burn out.
About Julia:
Julia Arndt is the founder of the Peak Performance Method (PPM), a unique model combining critical productivity, mindfulness and leadership tools to help forward thinking individuals and organizations develop the next workplace superpower through scalable programs.
Besides writing her first book, Julia is a stress management trainer, international speaker and the host of the "STRESSD" podcast that has over 25.000 podcast downloads globally to date.
Julia originally hails from Germany, has lived in 5 countries over the last 12 years and speaks three languages fluently. After working at Google in Silicon Valley for seven and a half years while the company grew from 30.000 to 100.000 employees, Julia has been running her own consulting and coaching business, helping innovative companies like Google and Uber understand the effects of stress on body and mind, move beyond burnout and build a mindful lifestyle that delivers focus, high energy and productivity.
Today, you can find Julia at peakperformancemethod.com and on her Stressd Podcast.
I hope you enjoy the conversation!

Today I talk about one of my goals for myself when I started this personal discovery journey -- to be able to FEEL again. I share some pretty raw, personal stories about a week I had in early March that really brought me to my knees and tested what I've learned to date.
I also share about my new PRIVATE Facebook group I just created with the goal of sharing some of the prompts that enabled me to be able to get more comfortable sharing my story.
I hope you enjoy!

Today I have a conversation with Briana Williams who bravely shares her story around her journey to motherhood. She experienced a miscarriage and then, when she ultimately became pregnant again, she was told that the pregnancy & delivery she'd always dreamed about would not be her reality. At 22 weeks, she was told that there was something wrong with her daughter. After delivering her daughter shortly thereafter, her daughter spent the next 12 weeks of her life in NICU. Briana and I talk about her experiences, but the underlying theme throughout the podcast is the loss of expectations that she faced and that so many of us face, not only in our journey to motherhood but in life in general.
About Briana:
Briana Williams, Pregnancy Life and Health Coach, is a Certified Functional Health Coach (A-CFHC) and an advocate for women and men who are 35 and over trying to conceive a healthy baby. She brings her knowledge, experience and a holistic approach to support others in their journey to create a miracle together. By working together, her clients often find that they are whole, complete, resourceful and stronger than they ever realized. You can find her at her website www.brianawilliams.life.

To recognize National Infertility Awareness Week, I'm bringing you a special bonus conversation episode where I sit down with my husband, Greg, and he shares his point of view on our infertility journey. In general, I believe we need to normalize infertility, but when we do speak about it, it tends to be from the woman's perspective. Today, we flip that on it's head and share Greg's perspective. We're real and honest, and it's a bit of a therapy session for us too. :)
Thank you for listening & I hope you enjoy!

"There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you." Maya Angelou
In this episode, I have a conversation with Stephanie Tilton about authentic storytelling. Within my mission to create connection & community through sharing personal stories, I also wanted to also be able to provide actionable, tangible steps for each of us to take in order to feel more comfortable doing so. From the first time I chatted with Stephanie, I knew she was someone special. She brings her full self to every conversation and I just loved everything we chatted about. I hope you do too!

We all have our own personal reasons for not sharing our stories. In this episode, I talk about some of the reasons I believe that are holding us back from sharing our truths and share some personal anecdotes about my own experiences with those reasons. I also share some personal stories about why I didn't share with my extended family when I was going through IVF cycles.
Even if you're not ready to share your story yet, I want you to know that I see you. My virtual door is always open, and I'm always happy to connect.
Let me know what you think of today's episode!

In this episode, Jessi has a conversation with Marcia Chen, who on her 23rd day of living in solitude and not going outdoors, not speaking with anyone in person, due to the global pandemic of COVID-19, authored this article that was published in the Nepali Times.
Marcia talks to Jessi about the silver lining of the COVID-19 crisis and how in Chinese, the word for ‘crisis’, 危机, is composed of two characters, one representing danger and the other representing opportunity. Like the union of Yin and Yang, everything has two sides: there is opportunity behind every crisis, but it takes courage and wisdom to see it. When Marcia was forced to slow down, she began to reflect on what matters most in life & saw the precious opportunity behind the danger.

In the first episode, our host, Jessi Shuraleff, talks about the intention of This Is My Truth. A platform for honest, open conversations. The stories shared are not often spoken about or discussed, but once told, have the ability to shine a light on another perspective, or a much needed conversation. These stories may make us laugh, some may make us cry, but together, we will learn from one another and begin to heal. Because walls need to be torn down, masks need to come off, stories need to be heard in order our truths to be told. This is my Truth. Tell me Yours.
