This Is My Truth

Welcome to This Is My Truth. I’m Jessi and I’m the mama of two amazing little humans. Being the ‘strong one’ in my family meant that I didn’t cry. I was the glue, always holding everything together. On the outside, it looked like I had it all, but on the inside, I was numb.

Through a series of events, I had a mirror held up to my face, and I realized that what I was modeling for my daughters’ was not how I wanted them to grow up. So I faced my fears, I got help & I began to share my story. In doing so, others began to tell me ‘me too’ and I had an ah-ha moment. What if I wasn’t alone in my stories that made me feel isolated? What if there was a way to create safe spaces for others to share their stories and beliefs?

I believe that there is a true empathy deficient in the world right now. Feeling like you’re on an island is, unfortunately, the way many of us live our lives. But if we can overcome that? If we can create the space for one more person to share, and they do the same for someone else...think of the impact we can have on society. I believe it starts with speaking & owning our truth -- This Is My Truth. Will you tell me yours?
