In today's episode I dig in and get truthful about the 3 common things I see successful women struggle with:
1️⃣ We give our power away
2️⃣ We hold back our full authentic selves
3️⃣ We wait for permission to do & be who we want to be
I get real, raw & honest, and of course, I use examples from my own life to make my points. Because if you can't learn from your mistakes, what's the point?!

It's the holidays! Before we officially put up our Out of Offices and turn off all notifications off our phone, I wanted to share a quick message to all of us out there who may have been told that you’d never amount to anything. To those of us who have been told to dream smaller. To those of us who have been told to stick to what you’re good at and not take risks.
These were the messages that my podcast guest, Debra Gipson, heard all through her life. Lucky for us, Debra refused to accept those messages as her truth, and today we dive into what true inclusivity looks like by overcoming the spaces we’re supposed to stay in.
I hope you enjoy our conversation along with Debra's infectious laugh and bold personality. Wishing you a very happy holiday season! Be back in 2022!

Today I dive into my love/hate relationship with boundaries. I dig into why they are needed, how to identify where they're needed in your life, some examples of my own boundaries and most importantly, how to keep them (especially during the holiday season).

The end of year, and especially during the holidays, we as women, often find ourselves in service to others, but what about being in service to ourselves. During December especially, we find ourselves stretched too thin, overextended and exhausted and so holiday mom rears her head. For all of you feeling guilt around that - I've got you. There is no guilt, just shared experiences. xoxo, Jessi

"I feel like I'm wilting." Hearing a women say this recently made me pause in my tracks. What a powerful word - wilting. I could see the visual - each time I didn't speak up - either at work or at home - a petal would fall off the flower. So in today's episode I dive into steps I've taken to go from wilting to thriving. Also, enjoy the cameo from Quinn at the end. :)
Becca describes life prior to her diagnosis of autism as living with one eye closed. It wasn’t until a WebMD search, at the age of 36, that saved her from suicidal thoughts and she could finally begin to understand and name the things that made her different. In this episode she not only shares her pain and trauma over the years but how we can be better advocates and allies to those with invisible disabilities.

Today I dive into some recent moments where I've seen my daughters' use their voice to advocate for themselves & it got me thinking about all the moments in the past where I haven't advocated for myself. For those who may be unfamiliar with the term, imposter syndrome refers to the feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that persist despite your education, experience, and accomplishments - and the steps I’ve taken to overcome imposter syndrome day in and day out to be the best role model I can be for my kiddos (though, let’s be honest, they often prove to be role models for me!)
There's also a cameo of Lucy singing at the end - you don't want to miss it!
From living a double life and struggling in silence to thriving, my dear friend Ashlee shares her truth about how her high risk pregnancy eventually opened many doors for her. By sharing her journey with others, it lessened the weight of carrying it alone for so long. Once her son was born, everything changed. She was able to see herself through a different lens and chose to step into the woman and life she knew her son deserved.
A little bit more about Ashlee:
She is an entrepreneur – Founder and Chief Engagement Officer of Our Forté, a company dedicated to helping non-profit and charitable organizations grow support, awareness and, ultimately, raise funds for those in need. She works with her clients to build a culture of support, and powerful connections between their donors and volunteers to achieve their fundraising and social justice goals. In doing this work, she recognized that these same lessons are desperately needed in the wider business community...especially as we grow more disconnected working in an online realm.
With that in mind, she launched “Teams with EDGE,” a program designed to bring the lessons of team encouragement and gratitude embraced by the most powerful charities to the business world.
She's on a mission to teach leaders that work doesn’t have to be so hard, providing them with the insights and skills to help create thriving, sustainable cultures which inspires their team, and helps them – and their businesses – succeed.
