Today, I visit DJ Area4 at his Monday night residency to rummage through that head of his. Filmed on location at the Sandbar Desert Ridge, Az. Joe was a member of the now disbanded Bumsquad DJs and holds many regular nights at various bars around the Phoenix metropolis. We met a decade ago, when we joined Phoenix lyricist BobbyBrandNew as his DJ and bass player. Joe has embarked on many entertainment ventures including the popular Paint N Patron shows and instructs aspiring DJ's through his school, AZ DJ School, in Scottsdale.
We talk about our time together as a band, his DJ origin story, childhood, spirituality, and much more!

Today, I sit with EoS master trainer, Mark "Thor" Neumeyer. I test his conversational fitness as I rifle through that incredible mind of his. Among a physical trainer, Mark is also a wildland firefighter, has been a stuntman, haunted house designer and actor, and is currently training for the Highland Games. He will also compete in his first Strongman competition, next year.
Mark has also dedicated time to train military personnel, both active and veteran. He hopes to make a big difference for those battling with depression and suicide.

October 29, 2019 TJT - Ep23 The Upper Strata with Special Guest
Today, I crash The Upper Strata's recent West Coast tour. I connect with the chameleon-like duo, Johnny and Reg, on their Tempe, Az stop at The Timeout Lounge before their performance. We speak on their most recent album release, "Fog", and the "found sounds" that inspired many of the songs. Currently they call Basel, Switzerland home until their next stop on this pale blue dot. Having lived together in Europe and up and down the North American west, it becomes evident why their musical range is so vast. There is something for everyone to find some favorites combing through their decade-long catalog.
Johnny and Regula also had a local Arizona artist and friend open up for them. I had the honor to meet and interview Jedidiah "Jed" Foster of the band, The Bittersweet Way. They also have quite the musical catalog and lead singer, Jed, has been critically compared to Morrissey.

We touch on spirituality, ethics, key moments in his career, and the emotional cost that comes with his line of work. I lost count on how many times I got goosebumps from this conversation.
