In this interview, I invited Cynthia Williams to talk about balancing all the roles as a woman and as a business owner. Cynthia is a wife, a mom of two, and a business owner. She is the owner of Holistic Integrative Wellness Centre (HIWC). HIWC, which was established in 2013, is a functional medicine practice and wellness center offering acupuncture, massage, yoga, functional medicine, IV nutrient therapy, herbs/supplements, and many other holistic healthcare modalities. Cynthia is doing it all and with optimism and positivity! She wears so many hats and she does it all with a limitless mindset. Cynthia is an Illinois licensed Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) with board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC), has a Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing, and is finishing up her Doctorate in Nursing. In addition to all that, Cynthia is also a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac) in the state of Illinois, an herbalist and has a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.
Cynthia had a vision from a young age and to get a head start on her career, she began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), while still in high school. She worked as a CNA for 7 years until she became an RN. While working as an RN, Cynthia began to gain interest in Oriental Medicine, after becoming aware of the growing need for alternative healthcare options. As the owner of Holistic Integrative Wellness Centre, Cynthia is able to provide a continuity of care for her clients by being both the Eastern practitioner and the Western practitioner. She believes that combining Eastern and Western medicine gives her the ability to incorporate holistic and intuitive thinking with critical thinking, which allows for a deeper level of understanding about what the client is experiencing.
Cynthia can be reached at [email protected], you can visit her site at https://holisticintegrativewellness.com/ or follow her on Facebook and Instagram @holisticintegrativewellness.

Who says you can't reinvent yourself in midlife? I call bullshit! Today's episode is a recording of a presentation I did this past summer as a guest speaker on a virtual summit called the Train of Positivity. The biggest complaint I hear time and time again from women in the middle is that they are stuck. They want to make change but don't know where to start and what to do in order to get unstuck. So, in this talk, I share my 'ABC' formula for getting unstuck! After over 40 years of saying 'NO' to myself and living life on autopilot because I was afraid to make a change, I finally faced my fears and said, 'YES.' My mission is to help other midlife women get unstuck and stop being afraid to redefine what midlife looks and feels like so that they live the life they want, not the one they're settling for.

In this episode, I have a conversation with Terrell Salley-Holliman, CEO & Founder of Living Loving You Well, LLC. Terrell's business focuses on helping "wonder women" who are entrepreneurs and ambitious professionals take action to improve their physical, emotional, and mental well-being while juggling the often opposing demands of their time so that they can live a balanced life. Terrell's professional career started in the halls of Fordham University in New York then on to Wall Street to a franchise owner and now, in the middle of life, she is taking on entrepreneurship.
Terrell and I met in a business coaching program for online entrepreneurs and I was instantly attracted to her zest for life, upbeat personality, and determination to reach her vision and goals. She is the definition of a midlife woman living her BOLDest life. I thoroughly enjoyed my time talking with Terrell as she discusses all the roles she, and so many other women, have to juggle, fighting stereotypes and discrimination, taking risks, overcoming obstacles to reach her dreams, and living her midlife years with intention and purpose to serve her calling of helping other "wonder women."

I'm here for the growth. All of it. The painful and the joyful parts of growth. The setbacks and the successes. The good and the bad. All of it. So much of what kept me stuck for years was that I didn't approach my goals from a perspective of "What is this here to teach me?" I attached solely to the outcome. When the outcome didn't materialize the way I planned, I labeled myself a failure and I got further and further into my stuck story. Showing up for your life with a mindset of "I'm here for the growth," changes your behaviors from ones that are outcome driven to behaviors that lead to curiosity about your reactions, actions, and inactions. If you get into the habit of asking yourself, "What is this lesson here to teach me?" and you are open to a mindset of growth instead of attaching to a result, your stuck story will slowly begin to disappear because you will have developed a habit of taking imperfect action.

I'm in my final days of this decade and I'm excited to welcome 50 and a new chapter. In this episode, I'm reviewing life since starting this podcast one year ago, the process of how Midlife in Bold came to be, a new business project I'm working on, the mindset shifts that I have made to overcome my limiting beliefs and own my worth and value, and what I have identified as my biggest barrier to success and living my purpose, resistance. Resistance comes disguised in many forms and can manifest in a number of unhealthy ways. Once you identify how resistance shows up in your life, you can begin to make the shifts to move past your resistance to live life with clarity and purpose. If you've ever started a project or work on a goal and then stopped or avoided making a change and then regretted it, it might be resistance. The good news is, once you realize how resistance is showing up in your life, you can overcome it.
