This time on TWiP GLAM! we welcome photographer Kelly Sedivec. Kelly began her photographic career as a hobby.  Quickly her natural talents began to manifest and her hobby turned into a profession.  She now runs a thriving photographic buisness including a successful brick and mortar studio.

In addition to photography, Kelly has made the transition into publishing.  She  is the chief photographer/editor of Bella Dreams Magazine and has also recently published the photo book "Embellish".

Thanks to a natural eye and an ability to adapt to dynamic shooting conditions, Kelly finds herself at home working in everything from the studio to harsh midday light.  Her portfolio concentrates on headshots, but ventures into glamour and fashion as well.  A particular point of interest is her use of nontraditional structure in her compositions to manipulate the viewer's mood.

With a rapidly expanding portfolio and a reputation for excellence, it seems like Kelly Sedivec is one to watch!

Updates on projects within Trey's gravitational influence.

Intrepid globe-trotting photographer Trey Ratcliff updates us on what he has been up to over the last several months. As it turns out, quite a lot! Trey has been collaborating with the Plotagraph team on making software to add motion to still photographs. He's also in cahoots with MacPhun, refining and defining the next generation of HDR processing software. Trey also gives us a sneak peek at how he uses Plotagraph to add motion to his images.

Could this be a new art form, entirely?

The technique of adding motion to still photographs has been around for quite some time now. Many of us will recognize the art form in “Cinemagraphs”, or even some animated GIFs.

However, one of the inherent limitations has been that the original image typically must be shot as video, then frozen, and then using software a select area (or areas) are “released” to animate. The popularity of 4K video and the ubiquity of cameras that can record it (including some phones) has made the “stills from video” workflow much more tenable, considering each still frame in a 4K video is roughly 8 megapixels — big enough to print. However, the original video must be created with post-production animation in mind, or if it’s a random clip — serendipity. Meaning you have to find a clip that "works". And that means a clip that was shot on a tripod, and has an area that "makes sense" to animate.

But what if you could grab almost any of the photos you’ve shot over the years, and add selective animation to areas within the the photos? For example; what if you could make the waves move under that awesome Golden Gate bridge” photo you snapped back in 2011? Or what if you could make the clouds move over Half Dome in Yosemite - from a shot you snapped on your iPhone last year? Or what if you could make the sidewalk move and appear to scroll?

All of these things are now possible with the advent of a piece of software called Plotagraph.

Invented by co-founders Sascha Phoenix and Troy Christopher Plota, this remarkable tool allows you to animate almost anything — quickly, easily and in a seamless loop. The results are both convincing and natural.

In this interview I speak with Sascha and Troy about the origins of their software, and where it might be going. Troy also gives us a short tutorial on how easy it is to add animation to your still photos.

I asked Rick once how he describes his photography, and answered “evolving,” He hesitates to categorize his work. He does it all, and enjoys the freedom of not specializing.

With nearly 40 years of experience, this self-taught photographer has many accomplishments – and as Rick suggests, “When you are through changing, you are through.”

Recently I saw Rick involved in a conversation on Twitter, or maybe it was Facebook, where they were discussing workshop participant behavior, and how people can get the most out of a workshop.
