We borrowed the title from some traditional music (thank you Jery Garcia and friends), but the title tells the story. This month's episode features tunes that deal with the prognosis of aging at various stages in life. When we are younger, the songs are about the great possibilities of life. As we age, the story becomes less about the end of the trip and more about the journey itself. In an unscheduled fashion, we will be dropping episodes that zero in on some of the specific musicians that pop up around the Des Moines music scene. We are calling these special shows, Des Moines Deep Dives.
On our maiden voyage, we sat and spoke with Anne and Dave Ducharme-Jones about their backstory and their music. Along the way, we gained more insight into some of the work they have done behind-the-scenes to help Des Moines become such a vibrant live music scene.

When the discussion about the glamorous lifestyles of professional musicians really gets rolling, it often centers around that 1960's mantra of "Drugs, Sex, and Rock & Roll." But they often forget that one of the main vehicles (pardon the pun) for the stories in the music is the physical presence of a car. That's right... many a great rock song often centers around an automobile of some sort. Might be a car, might be a truck, might be a bus... but it shows up so much that we decided it was time to take a look at songs that speak directly to the gallant steed of the 20th century, the car.
