Well... it's a bittersweet moment as BillyBobb and his Neighbor Jerry end one podcast with their eyes fixed on a new horizon. Here's to celebrating the past and welcoming the future. The artistic drum beats differently in each and every one of us. For some, it finds it’s rhythm in the carving of wood or the molding of clay or the capturing of an image or the raising of offspring. For the wordsmith, abstract symbols on a page are gathered to form a word which combines with others to import meaning which then become the backbone of the song or the poem and the listener becomes the vessel into which beauty and meaning are whispered into life. So much about which to write… so many topics… so much beauty… and yet this episode  we turn our bloodshot eyes towards the songs that salute the innocuous pleasures of getting high on some decent weed. That’s right folks, if you were looking for some small morsel of intellectual nourishment, oops! This month we celebrate the songs that extol the wonders of weed.

When the season starts to turn toward the longer nights and shorter days, we choose to battle back with some musical "medicare." This episode splits down a couple of pathways. Jerry leans into the songs that most dealt with references to the fall season, BillyBobb not so much. Instead, he chose to pick all of his favorite songs that incorporate the word "MOON" in the title or the content. Still, in all, it has made for a great podcast. One in which we think everyone can find a smile.

We borrowed the title from some traditional music (thank you Jery Garcia and friends), but the title tells the story. This month's episode features tunes that deal with the prognosis of aging at various stages in life. When we are younger, the songs are about the great possibilities of life. As we age, the story becomes less about the end of the trip and more about the journey itself. The boys at Three Drinks In are taking things to an all new level. Oh, don't worry... we will still offer the usual ridiculously amateurish viewpoints of two retired dudes living in their musical past on our monthly program drops. However, something new is here for you, our loyal listeners.

In an unscheduled fashion, we will be dropping episodes that zero in on some of the specific musicians that pop up around the Des Moines music scene. We are calling these special shows, Des Moines Deep Dives.

On our maiden voyage, we sat and spoke with Anne and Dave Ducharme-Jones about their backstory and their music. Along the way, we gained more insight into some of the work they have done behind-the-scenes to help Des Moines become such a vibrant live music scene.
