It seemed like when we were growing up in the 60's that about every other song was a new hit from the Motown label. So here we are some 60 years later still looking for the driving beat that sent us out "dancin' in the streets" those many years ago. Crawl into the latest sweet ride fresh off the line at the auto plant and lets crank up some tunes.

We have all gone through various phases in our graduated taste for music. For some of us, there was no greater classroom than the sounds wafting in and out of the open doorways in our residence halls at college. Our ears were opened to new sounds and our collective souls were lifted to a different level of appreciation. So return with us to those thrilling days of yesteryear as the boys take you into the soundtrack of their college experience. It's time to chase down some musical shadows and pay homage to the ones that have survived for so long.

When the discussion about the glamorous lifestyles of professional musicians really gets rolling, it often centers around that 1960's mantra of "Drugs, Sex, and Rock & Roll." But they often forget that one of the main vehicles (pardon the pun) for the stories in the music is the physical presence of a car. That's right... many a great rock song often centers around an automobile of some sort. Might be a car, might be a truck, might be a bus... but it shows up so much that we decided it was time to take a look at songs that speak directly to the gallant steed of the 20th century, the car. Hop in the shotgun seat as we punch up our 8-Track and settle in for a long ride.

Who would have thought that we'd be doing a fiftieth episode of Three Drinks In. Back in 2018, it was just a number on a piece of paper. But here we are. We thank those of you who actually listen to the episodes, and we encourage those of you who are curious to give us a try. It's been a lot of fun for us, so far.

We occasionally fall victim to that cultural faux pas of "name dropping" in polite company, but have you ever paid attention to how many songs are out there dropping the title of a different song into its own lyrical maze? We took a deep dive into songs that seemed to reflect attitudes about working in general and maybe the occasional pro-union song. Any way you look at it, you have yourself a great playlist for when you are mad at the bosses or when you just want to know that you are NOT alone in this big-assesd world.
