You gotta love those folks who come to every tailgate party and have that kick-ass playlist that you wish you would have taken the time to compile yourself. While theirs may be good, you know that yours would be just a little bit better, because you'd have added this tune or that tune. Well, folks, tune in to our show today and you'll hear a little history about the art of tailgating in general...but more specifically, we'll point you toward our picks for the ultimate tailgate playlist. Remember, this is always a dynamic list, so it changes with the prevailing winds. Feel free to drop us a line or two and suggest what you think would make our list even better. As always, this show is much more tolerable after a cold beer or two. Enjoy!

There is so much history in the art of rock and roll, that it's difficult to find where one phase begins or another leaves off. Who were the artists or what are the songs that have most clearly demonstrated these seismic shifts? These are questions that are NOT for the faint of heart. Fortunately, we have the wherewithal to take the deep dive into this one and tell you all just what we think, right or wrong.
On today's episode, BillyBobb and his neighbor Jerry welcome to the show, longtime listener, first-time co-host, Mailman Mick. The lads enjoy their refreshments while discussing the list of songs they think were pivotal at changing the direction of rock-and-roll music at some point on that musical continuum. Together they put together a pretty compelling list of Songs That Changed the Direction of Rock and Roll.

A legacy might come in one of many forms. It might be a monetary gift of wealth. It might be a physical gift of property. At Three Drinks In, we wish to bequeath to our offspring the gift of music. We hope this episode and the playlist that supports it, will serve as a stepping off point that allows our kids to learn more about who we are and what we value. Granted, we have definitely been working on this through our choices and our actions, but we know that often times the words of others might tell the same story in a better way. Here are some of those words as presented by some of our favorite artists. Please enjoy and share.

This is a club to which very few belong and even fewer are applying to join. Our 30th Episode at Three Drinks In takes us into the darkness that is a category of successful musical artists who all died at the untimely age of 27. It's a sad story, but the music they left behind will live forever. We hope you'll give us a listen and enjoy the show. Thanks again.

Are you old enough to remember when Ronald Reagan told an audience, "America's future rests in a thousand dreams inside our hearts. It rests in the message of hope in the songs of a man so many young Americans admire: New Jersey's own Bruce Springsteen. And helping you make those dreams come true is what this job of mine is all about."
Wow...Reagan had no idea what the song was even about and Springsteen called him on it. This month's episode glides along a similar path. We take a look at a variety of songs that either offer up misleading titles or the general public just flat out misinterprets...often times, very badly. We borrowed our title from the song originally written for and performed by the legendary Nina Simone, but probably most famously covered by the Animals.
Remember to grab a brew and get comfortable. Thanks for listening.

We all have those moments when being alone is a good thing. You can breathe in and out without the everyday pressures stampeding across your brain. Might be in the evening hours on the veranda watching the stars climb into the sky...might be in you kayak rolling across a calm lake. If you are so inclined, you might have a drink sitting next to you and you might choose to put on some music that helps you understand that whatever is weighing you down is a universal feeling. Others have been there in some form or another and sometimes just the sound of that special singer or band can help bring you to a place of inner peace like nothing else. We hear you folks...we are right there with you. So we put together an episode that will offer you up some views on the topic and introduce you to some of the helpers we turn to when we need to get to that special place where the world melts away and we are just, well...in the words of the singer/songwriter, Gilbert O'Sullivan... Alone Again...Naturally.

In today’s world, most people and kids especially have the luxury of being able to pop in a couple of ear buds and stream up a playlist on their phone and voila, they are the commander of their own musical starship. It hasn’t always been that way, has it? Most of you listening to this know that there was always a hierarchy in who got to choose the music to which the entire family would be listening. The most notable of example of this was the car radio. The driver always had first dibs on the station we had to listen to and woe be unto him that tried to switch from that station without written consent from Congress. Same was true for many of us that had that one radio in the kitchen or family room in the house where we grew up. The big folks got to make the choices and we were just along for the ride, like it or not. Turns out, at least for some of us, those tunes still resonate. Join us today as we jump into the sounds our parents listened to on our grammatically incorrect and poorly titled episode, Music to Grow Up With!
