We discuss the importance of food and nutrition in reducing the risk of breast cancer and other hormone-related cancers. Dr. Carmen discusses the importance of fiber and phytoestrogens in hormone regulation and cancer prevention. She explained that phytoestrogens, found in plant-based foods like flaxseed and soy, can mimic estrogen in the body, potentially reducing the need for estrogen production and slowing cancer cell growth. She recommended incorporating ground flaxseed and organic soy products into the diet for their phytoestrogenic properties. Carmen also highlighted the benefits of green tea, particularly its antioxidant Egcg, which has been shown to reduce inflammation, oxidation, and cancer risk. She recommended organic loose leaf or matcha green tea for higher concentrations of Egcg.
