Today we’ll be talking about winning and quitting. You’ve probably heard that “winners never quit,” but the truth is that the best winners among us quit all the time. Surprised? Ready to learn more? Tune in!
Here’s what I mean: winners quit things that aren’t working, that are draining them, or that aren’t in their zone of genius. It’s absolutely okay to pivot. I want you to really think about what you’ll take into the new year, and what you’ll leave behind. You have the freedom to do that, and you don’t need to feel guilty for your decisions.
In today’s episode, I’ll share some real-world strategies from Michael Hyatt that can help you figure out whether to persist on your goals, pivot to different goals, or quit altogether. First, you need to identify why you’re stuck! There are seven things to consider to figure this out:
- Maybe you have a divided focus. Narrow your focus to 2-3 goals per quarter.
- Perhaps you’ve lost visibility of the goal. Take time daily or weekly to review your goals.
- A change of circumstances might have happened. If this is the case, go through Jevonnah’s five R’s: rejoice, recommit, revise, remove, or replace your goal.
- You might have a decline in motivation. It’s time to review and revise your motivation!
- Maybe you experienced failure to launch. If this is why you’re stuck, create an activation trigger.
- You might be experiencing a decline in energy. Make sure that you’re following the rhythm of refreshing.
- You may have a delay of achievement and be wondering if you can finish. When I hit that wall, I take charge of my thinking and my mind.
Tune into this episode to learn more about all of this, and how you can absolutely do all things through Christ, even if that means persisting past exhaustion or heartache.
