Freshman year, the day before my first college meet I was pulled into the coaches office and said I couldn’t compete. Then said I couldn’t travel with the team. All year. Because of my SAT scores. That was a devastating.

After college I was ready to start new. Do something other than gymnastics. Little did I know I would go downhill fast.

I wanted to be and behaved like a rockstar for far too long.

It was my identity. It was what I thought attracted people to me.

It was actually what was pushing people away and I was digging myself deeper, and deeper into a hole of alcoholism.

-Detach yourself from your thoughts: realize that they are not who you are.

-Think of the voice in your head as a bad roommate, don't let them live there.

-The importance of vulnerability to building real relationships.

-Looking for happiness internally instead of externally.

-Looks, validation from other people, social media, etc. is all temporary, and very fleeting. It will never make you happy for long.

=You must find the things internally that you love/value in yourself.
